According to an AI analysis of my posts on Another Site, I am "like a Swiss Army knife that's been left out in the Falklands' harsh weather - rusty, a bit dull, but still trying to be useful"
Not entirely unfair, but it's not just the Falklands weather that's harsh!

I will try to be useful here too
And pray to God there’s intelligent life somewhere out in space, ‘cos there’s bugger all down here on earth

Once again, it’s one of the four days of the year designated for displays of Borealcentrism and Australcentrism
In a spirt of passive aggressive Australcentrism identifying as inclusion, may I wish you all a Happy December Solstice!

It was sufficiently predictable that I am not claiming great powers of clairvoyance … but, when I prepped Monday’s breakfast show this morning, I put Kylie’s XMAS in as the placeholder for the Christmas No1

To paraphrase Mr Banks in Mary Poppins:
“A party entered the Capitol and behaved rather rudely”
Sen. BLUMENTHAL: Was the U.S. Capitol attacked on January 6, 2021?

Trump nominee: *dodges*

Trump nominee: *dodges*

Trump nominee: Well, individuals entered the Capitol.

Blumenthal: You are in fear—how will you have the courage to be fair and impartial?

I haven’t been able to find it online but I remember a feature on Tomorrow’s World that showed a clip from a 1930s French film about the Universal Leisure that would result from the spread of technology and one of the presenters pointing out that Universal Leisure was later called Mass Unemployment
Well I haven't found an answer to this but I have found a fantastic magazine cover from the 1930s that's still relevant NOW. (Via this rabbit hole en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Technoc...)

FFS? FFS!

Apparently, in this context, it stands for Falklands First Strategy, as just announced in the Falkland Islands Legislative Assembly by last week’s poll topper and new Executive Council member Lewis Clifton

First meeting of the new #FalklandIslands Legislative Assembly and Keith Biles has been re-elected for a 5th full term - he took over in 2009 when Lewis Clifton had to resign
Lewis Clifton topped the poll last week and has just been elected to ExCo, joined by Jack Ford and Cheryl Roberts

Not a 2009-style clean sweep, but it might as well as have been
In so far as left right politics apply in the #Falklands, it’s definitely a quite a shift to the right
I think a fair summary is that the new Assembly will be “business friendly” and fiscally conservative
