A can't be fagged wastrel, a sot, a dullard, a dolt; a lazy secular stained glass maker; a warm country urbexer, aspirant yogi; a daily guitar playing, idiot checking, bleeding heart jimcrack
"I got it from Bird, I just do it, I mean… it's part of my life, it's like I have to eat to live, I have to sleep to live, and I have to sing to live… and I have to improvise to live, it's an extension of what my being is."

This is so good!!! No chords, just an ever changing bass riff that sounds like it doesn't...

This book sounds like a very enlightening read. Am going to buy, or lend, it.

"Cults Like Us: Why Doomsday Thinking Drives America"
Jane Borden's "Cults Like Us: Why Doomsday Thinking Drives America" develops a simple thesis: The Pilgrims who landed at Plymouth Rock were essentially a doomsday cult who passed on seven key elements of belief that have shaped America ever since. Author interview: www.salon.com/2025/05/26/h...
How America got so weird: The Pilgrims made us do it
Those guys who landed at Plymouth Rock were a doomsday cult, says Jane Borden — and we've emulated them ever since

After a few years of ditching CDs and enjoying home streaming less I’m considering buying a modest CD player again. Anyone out there have experience of the Fiio DM13? It seems to tick most of the boxes for me

This quote reminded me of the power of music to cut across cultures. Playing for Change demonstrates that power. Also, great Black Pumas track and Slash solo.

Imagine every second $1 magically paid into your bank.
After 11½ days you have $1 million, and after 1 year, $30 million.
It would take 10,000 years to amass $320 billion.
What would any of the great spiritual leaders do with that wealth?

The Roman engineer Vitruvius's (80-20 BCE) description that #Leonardo Da Vinci used to draw the Vitruvian Man did not mention anything connected to #Fibonacci, #Phi or the #Golden spiral but the drawing is so acurate that the proportions can be clearly seen.

Did #Henri Cartier-Bresson use a #goldenspiral overlay? No,of course not, you can see the border of the print, so the composition was framed using the camera not the print, but it shows that good images can be explained using #fibonacci numbers
