The whole movie’s an occupational health and safety nightmare.
Star Wars missing a scene where the cantina bartender quits their job that evening. Normally, you get a few rowdy drunks maybe but in one day, someone gets their arm chopped off and another guy is murdered! And the killer just tosses him a few coins as an apology. Not doing this anymore!

Two fronts in the disinformation war converge: fake news site publishes patently false story; Grok digests it and spews it to users as fact.
This is fucking grim. Somebody invented a white guy, an "IT professional" named Edward Crabtree, who stopped the Bondi shooting and spread it all over the internet, which was picked up by AI agents and slop aggregation sites.
The real hero is a fruit stand owner named Ahmed el Ahmed.

TIL about a memorial ceremony in Iceland in 2019 to mark the end of a glacier, changing the place name from Okjökull to Ok (jökull = glacier). Uncompromising wording on the bronze plaque:
"This is to acknowledge that we know what is happening and what needs to be done. Only you know if we did it".

The BC Conservative Party just announced they have removed John Rustad as their party leader.
Comes hours after Rustad said he was staying on despite 20 MLAs calling for his removal, arguing there was no mechanism for the party to turf him as leader after winning his leadership review.

The BC Conservatives currently hold 39 seats
So, theoretically, if 20 of them were to leave the caucus and form their own party, they could end up the official opposition 💁♀️

I love Franklin and read these books aloud to my kid, as did so many of us. KCP is a fantastic Canadian publisher, and I stand with them. Sending so much support to the author and illustrator, and also hoping to eventually see Hegseth get the life he deserves.
