Hey folks just fyi please @ me and tell me if we’re mutuals on Twitter because i 1 find this website hard to parse and 2 forget who everyone is if I can’t see their long-standing pfp
up all night on one of my patented put-off-all-grading-until-literally-the-last-possible-moment binges. grades are due four times a year, but it increasingly feels like the only real part of the year, like everything else happens in montage, and life is just a stack of papers

remember that Weiss' idea of a "charismatic figure" they need to put on the air more is Alan fucking Dershowitz. She wants to transform CBS into ENN: the Epstein-associate News Network.
"People don't trust us. Maybe it's because we're platforming a guy who appears thousands of times in the Epstein Files."

"We need to air what people want. Unless people don't want us to air the views of a guy who appears thousands of times in the Epstein Files. Then we'd be giving in to the mob."

I decided to check out the profile of the person who wrote the substack that Gaiman says clears his name and his current argument is “It would be impossible for Gaiman to manipulate, groom or sexually prey people because he’s autistic” which is an absurd defense I hear too often about guilty men

My opinion of Gaiman remains: even in the unlikely event that he’s telling the truth and this is all mischaracterizations of the truth by bad faith actors, the stuff that objectively happened that he admitted to and his behavior surrounding it all is enough for me to want to never support him again

Huh, wonder what’s the deal with this bulleted list with emotes at the start of each individual section! That’s the sort of formatting style seen in ChatGPT 4o! Almost as if the person making this “Neil Gaiman Is Innocent” blog Gaiman is promoting used AI to compile all of this together

Wild that Neil Gaiman shared that long substack about how he’s secretly innocent because I read through it a week ago after someone was spamming it in my replies and it’s the type of shit that’s only convincing if you think “she described it as grooming, not sexual assault” is a persuasive argument

I recommend this book here. But I also talked about it in a spoiler filled podcast.

for the record, Neil Gaiman only appears in the released epstein files once, and then it's just kickstarter spam. Which makes sense; he didn't spend much time with authors, and, as we can see from his exchanges with Musk, he wasn't a fan of cringily performative nerds

like at a certain point it is easier to just run a candidate with popular policies than a dogshit one with awful policies who you have to somehow scold people into pretending is good. far too much work, that

One thing many people refuse to understand is that voting for Kamala Harris doesn’t excuse you for telling everyone she sucks and convincing others not to vote for her

ME: I knew Pagliacci was a stage name, but the joke didn't work unless I pretended it was his real name.

CHOTINER: So you misrepresented the doctor.

M: Well, I didn't know it would be popular. It was just for our followers.

C: Right. It's okay to lie when it's only close friends.

M: Hold on
DOCTOR: I told him he needed to get out to a show, that was how he would cure his depression.

CHOTINER: So you learned this technique in school?

DR: No, not— listen it was good advice. Pagliacci was in town.

C: Right. Is it standard to give advice before learning a patient’s name?

DR: Now look

$3,000 billion dollars. the whole earth is being turned into paperclips right now for this trash people don't even want being shoved into every product that's consistently failing businesses that are trying to use it, deeply screws up and even undoes learning in ways that seem borderline irreparable

This podcast has meant a lot to me personally, and ending it with New X-Men is just also very personally meaningful. In 2014, I was in my second semester of grad school, driving 2 hours each way to my class/work, and I had, suddenly, two thoughts:

if you're wondering "Does New York City Comic Con ever get mentioned in the epstein files?" the answer is yes

I guess this isn't new information, it must be in the actual published version of the autobiography, but while looking for Comics-Related shit in the Epstein Files, I discovered this amazing child story about Alan Dershowitz:
