Hey folks just fyi please @ me and tell me if we’re mutuals on Twitter because i 1 find this website hard to parse and 2 forget who everyone is if I can’t see their long-standing pfp
I am finally well enough to, like, process information again lol. I apologize if my posting wasn't very coherent the past few days. I was hallucinating a little bit through part of it.

OK I did this quick and dirty and it turned out way better than I expected. If I had the skill or technology to separate out the original music track I would

One of my first Oh We’re Not Gonna Make It Huh moments was under a forum post about the drastic decline in summer insect populations and the downstream effects of that and the top comment was “Well good thing keep those creepy crawlies AWAY from me!”
This passage shocked me to my core.

The loss of biodiversity isn't a tragic accident or oversight, it was the plan!

i thought 'oh, nice cozy weekend in bend resting and getting better' but i have been too loopy to even watch youtube videos. I started hallucinating (dreaming?) that every time i swallowed i was communicating with the virus and giving it instructions on who to save or infect

what's the most effective soar throat medicine you've ever used? I couldn't sleep last night, from the pain of swallowing, and I've only got enough money left to make one purchase. I need it to count.

extremely proud of my WIFE for making this minidoc on the history of denim and how designers are thinking about that history when creating heritage denim jeans for women:

You know, I think there’s a significant chance Netflix shuts down DC comics, or at the very least stops publishing physical floppies and collections.

American Canto feels like it was designed to annoy me specifically. In its first few pages, Nuzzi quotes Bishop Barron paraphrasing John of the Cross instead of just quoting John of the Cross. In the last few pages she seems to riff on Robert Penn Warren’s poetry, badly.

I just want to stress that this has nothing to do with the rest of the chapter. She has an epigraph, a bizarre intro paragraph, a description of Britney Spears dancing in 2002 and then a section about Donald Trump promoting birtherism.

"David Lowery's theology professor dad was so bad at theology that he accidentally convinced me the Catholic Church was wrong about Natural Law Theory and set me on the path towards excommunication" is my backstory so I'm personally tremendously excited for this lol
The trailer for David Lowery’s Mother Mary, starring Anne Hathaway and Michaela Coel, is here 👀

In theaters Spring 2026 via A24. Add to your watchlist at the link in bio.

my “AI is over” anecdote is that my wife was hired over the summer to write scripts for a big tech company explaining how to use their AI tools and after many rounds of revisions, the latest notes said “we’re finding a lot of AI fatigue among our users” and to remove all references to AI
Anecdotally on twitter seeing a big shift the last few days from every AI slop account saying every other creative field is “over” and they’re in control now to now posting about how nobody likes them and it’s not fair and they’ll persevere and real artists respect and uplift eachother

And I don't know if the answer is: everyone is too traumatized to do work and we need to reinvent society. Or if it's more like: generations are losing their cognitive abilities and willpower due to destructive technologies. Or: we all have post-viral brain damage. Or: all of the above.

It's only a matter of time before humanities departments will be forced to accept AI-authored assignments, as part of revised university policy to cooperate with these billionaires. It's already happening, and our response needs to be decisive. Because our students' ability to *think* is at stake.
