New: The US has for months been helping Ukraine mount long-range strikes on Russian energy facilities, in what officials say is a co-ordinated effort to weaken Vladimir Putin’s economy and force him to the negotiating table.

Mark Bray teaches the history of antifascism at Rutgers U. He is trying to leave the US with his family bc of death threats they are receiving since Charlie Kirk’s outfit called him an antifa terrorist. Situation sounds crazy. Bookmarking this until I hear they have successfully left the US.

“Someone” cancelled my family’s flight out of the country at the last second.

We got our boarding passes. We checked our bags. Went through security. Then at our gate our reservation ‘disappeared.’

Casually announcing plans to murder American citizens for wrongthink.

My gosh. After the US bombed multiple boats in the middle of the ocean, murdering people on grounds that they were allegedly "carrying drugs," the US Attorney General says "Just like we did with cartels, we're going to take the same approach, President Trump, with Antifa."

I spent more than a decade at The Post. It was good to me and I was proud to work there. I’ve largely refrained from being critical since I left. But this framing of the special counsel probe is embarrassing and flatly wrong. Stunning, but not. www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/202...

I prefer governments that don’t try to “take the freedom of speech away.”

Trump: "We took the freedom of speech away because that's been through the courts and the courts said you have freedom of speech, but what has happened is when they burn a flag it agitates and irritates crowds."

How long are Americans going to tolerate this from their president?

Trump: "I don't know what could be worse than Portland. You don't even have stores anymore. They don't even put glass up. They put plywood on their windows."

Pritzker: "It's unconscionable. This has never happened before. They're calling out troops onto the streets of a state that doesn't want them and they're not even telling us where they're gonna go, what they're gonna do. This hasn't happened I don't think since the Civil War."

Putin arrived in Tajikistan, where he was greeted with honors despite the ICC arrest warrant against him.

Despite calls from Human Rights Watch to deny entry or arrest the Russian war criminal, the country’s authorities welcomed him with an embrace from President Rahmon.

🇺🇦🦩 Ukraine has begun using FP-5 Flamingo cruise missiles, costing about $500,000, — The Economist.

For comparison, Tomahawk missile costs four times as much, has a shorter claimed range and payload, but is more accurate and harder to shoot down.

We’re in a moment now where it would be worth people taking three hours to watch Gandhi, particularly the scene of the salt march. There is value to making the brutality of your opponent so plain as day that no one can argue with it. The clarity of that brought down an empire
