I’m not so sure. They have a LOT of oil but nobody’s turned a large profit off of it because it is notoriously difficult to extract and is riddled with so much sulfur that it requires specialty refineries. Venezuelan oil is almost solid at room temperature. It’s referred to as “sour” in the industry

It’s largely the US that has the advanced facilities able to process that oil though. For a long time we’ve exported our easily processed sweet oil to poorer countries and imported sour oil, using our economic advantages to further the wealth discrepancy between nations.

It’s still early but it seems like Venezuelans are confirming that the Maduro government is still in control of the country. Obviously, confusion is setting in, and while there is still optimism that, at the very least, the regime will negotiate an exit, there are far more questions than answers.
