As a bloke who has played many gigs in the back rooms of those 'shit pubs' that had to put bands etc on to get punters through the door, I look back with great sadness at their demise.

The smoking ban, huge increases in tax and running costs, plus the Covid shutdowns has done for loads in 20 years
