These protest restrictions will obviously fail. Most Australians already believe Israel is a genocidal, apartheid state. Israeli ministers have arrest warrants with the ICC out for them and the ICJ continues to pursue Israel over its illegal occupation and genocide.

Australia and NSW in particular have become oppressive in the restriction on legal protest and political opinion just yesterday it was discovered someone was threatened with arrest for hanging a "Sanction Israel" sign and an MP was threatened for wearing a "Writers and Readers Against Genocide" Tote

There is no violent threat from the Palestine movement. Who have been consistent in simply demanding the implementation of International Court of Justice's opinion "Legal Consequences arising from the Policies and Practices of Israel in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem"
In fact the only violence we've seen has been either by neo-nazi counter protesters or the Police themselves.

The Palestine protests have been the largest most frequent protests in Australian history. For over two years people have been turning out weekly to marches, community events, forums and encampments. In those thousands of events not once has there been an act of violence by the public.

It's so strange because signing it could have been an easy way to have Herzog cancel without the public seeing it as Labor's fault. Labor really are aiming at winning over 5 tv/paper editors instead of the public here.
