All hail @sarahfenske.bsky.social for what can only be described as this "peak St. Louis" story. Ah, man. I love it here.
Story from St. Louis Daily Magazine: O'Connell's pub calls bullshit on foliage notice it got from the city. David beats Goliath!!!

Aside, I referred to this work as part of the Space Cowboy Cinematic Universe as my in to next year's #Galaxacon. Steve Miller, have your people call my people.

Hey, it's been awhile since I've tinkered with my#Pico8 game. It's a #shmup, but has some constraints. Bullets aren't cheap, you know. I'll try to get this up on the Lexaloffle BBS soon, elsewhere ... someday. #GameDev #RetroGameDev #ScreenshotSaturday
Game over screen for my retro video game, "Some People Call Him the Space Cowboy." 222 alien slugs killed, but it only takes one baddie to take the base. Next time, Space Cowboy.

I’d be very happy to join any podcast or video to talk about the Ruby Central security situation.

I’m not directly involved but I’ve probably spoken to more people that were involved than anyone else at this point.

I’d be especially happy if someone from Ruby Central’s board joined too.

Hey folks. I'm still trying to reconcile the news today.
1. We are not selling any private info. RubyGems.org policies permit that, but gem.coop doesn't collect anything.
2. We need to have good leadership, elected transparently, with transparent finances. We're publishing our governance for that.

I'm still struggling to publicly say nice things about Rails right now. I have a handful of projects I'll still support, but long term, ? And I'm really not into "just" learning or building another framework. I'm more apt to "just" deal with, say, Python, and find other ways to use my brain. 🤷

twice a year the entire U.S. press becomes a marketing extension of a single billionaire-owned retailer, and nobody in any position of editorial power thinks it's weird or gross

Today’s announcement of gem.coop is the most Ruby chatter I’ve seen on Bluesky to date. Did everyone go back to Twitter or something? (fwiw I find Mastodon much more active for programming-y conversations.)

That said: If you're walking back east on Shaw to your car from @mobotgarden.bsky.social this weekend and go by Shaw Market, stop in and buy something from my friend BB! These events are not good for his business. #STL #ShawNeighborhood
ruralocity.bsky.social
Yeah, having the Shaw Art Fair and @mobotgarden.bsky.social Best of Missouri Makers' Market on the same weekend means not moving my car all weekend, but on the plus side, I am a few blocks away from supporting legit art and good local craft (and booze). #STL, you're ok.

Hey #STL drivers: Stop blocking curbcuts and sidewalks with your vehicles, please. Yes I realize this might mean walking 50 feet here and there. But on the bright side, you won't be forcing people into the street!

If you want your favourite independent creatives to make more stuff then you need to give them money, it's really that simple.

I tried those fonts and they're close, but not quite. DIN Condensed is the closest I've found from my current collection, but I will need to manually tweak it (which I may need to do anyway; the kerning is janky).
