Progressives: We're up! Let's take our country back from those who want to replace our democracy with money.

Our elected "officials" in the US Congress & Senate are NOT "lawmakers". They are either complicit lawbreakers, ineffective fighters, silent enablers, or complete spectators. Democracy is dying. Has there ever been a more pathetic group of "leaders" in US History? Will U allow TFG to use nukes? WTF?

U.S. military spending is set to hit a record $1 trillion.

Roughly half of defense spending goes to private contractors that routinely price-gouge the government.

Meanwhile, the Pentagon has failed EIGHT straight audits.

This is the military industrial complex on steroids.

Moulton: "When we had briefings on Venezuela, we asked, 'Are you going to invade the country?' We were told no. 'Do you plan to put troops on the ground?' We were told no. 'Do you intend regime change in VZ?' We were told no. So in a sense, we have been briefed, we've just been completely lied to"

Whatever happens now, we absolutely cannot allow Trump's refusal to seek Congressional authorization for what appears to be a large scale military attack on another country vanish from the media discussion, which already appears to be happening.

That one person can drag us into a war without consulting or even notifying Congress, or our allies, or fully explaining to the American people why this is necessary, is absolutely bonkers.

Reminder that Congress has the power to stop all of this. Where the hell are they?

Trump promising to rescue non-violent Iranian protesters being brutalized by their government as here at home he authorizes and condones non-violent *American* protesters being brutalized by *his* government (to include urging that they be shot in the legs) is certainly a new take on "America First"

Errrrrrrr.... could we get some more detail on that?
We know it'll take some time to get things back into order, but we *do* have an elected president, Eduardo González so the sooner he's sworn in, the better.

Happening now: several hundred people are pouring into Chicago's downtown Federal Plaza.

It's 25 degrees outside.

Organizers are leading the crowd in a chant of, "no boots on the ground, no bombs in the air!"

Two protesters hold a large banner reading, "no war for Venezuela oil."

Unconstitutional force. Civilians dead. Congress bypassed. Oil interests front and center.

We’ve seen this movie before and it ends in blood. But we don’t have to do it again.

Nothing about this is okay.

The President of the United States is on Fox News right now gabbing about the U.S. attack on Venezuela before addressing the American people.

So the new order of information is: Truth Social → Fox News → the public → Congress, maybe?

Mike Lee (R, Gilead) popped off on Twitter for a moment, all angry that He, a United States Senator, was not consulted before the U.S. decided to attack Venezuela.

Then Marco Rubio called Lee and petted him and now he’s totally copacetic.

We will get no help from Republicans, now or ever.

Maduro is a brutal and oppressive dictator of Venezuela.

Trump has no legitimate legal basis for military action against Venezuela under United States or international law.

Both of those facts are simultaneously true.

Our military personnel should reject this nonsense. There is no way they should be following orders of a criminal who is dragging them into a war for no reason. I’m pretty sure this is not congress approved attacks therefore making it illegal.

Drug runners aren't terrorists. Fisherman are not drug dealers. The AUMF absolutely does not apply (and it should be repealed immediately). Venezuela is a sovereign nation. Trump went to war without Congressional approval. This war is illegal. Congress must act immediately.
