one thing the trump era has made clear, i think, is that the american people themselves are far more committed to the values of our founding documents than our elites

this is….certainly the only sequel trailer i can think of in which one hundred percent of the spoken dialogue is about one main character having zero memory of ever meeting anyone from the first film?
The trailer for "The Devil Wears Prada 2" is out:

(there is genuinely no such thing as a timeline in which any Democratic presidential nominee of the last ~60 years losing to their Republican opponent results in a better world)
Random but dark thought:

Obama is clearly a better president than Romney would have been

Is the timeline where he lost to Mitt actually a better world though?

yeah so Trump is the one who turbocharged the ICE budget from $9 billion to $75 billion + this habit of insisting after his every uniquely fucked-up act that everyone sucks and he’s just an interchangeable cog in the evil imperial machine has let him get away with *so* much shit for 10 years now!!!
listen here you stupid leftoid, if you just voted blue in 2024, ICE would be ruining the lives of immigrant families quietly and efficiently in a way where we wouldn't have to hear about it on the news

The reality of the situation is that whatever Trump personally thinks about anything, he is allowing Stephen Miller to run his administration because he is lazy and stupid, and the entire decision-making apparatus on immigration has been infested with Nazis.

if you spent the last 3 weeks watching this unfold and your response was whacking anyone using the A-word instead of saying “Retrain, Restrain, & Reframe” or whatever….that’s your right, but please show some humility when people question why anyone should *ever* be paying you for messaging guidance!
YouGov is out with a new poll after ICE killed another person in Minnesota today. Abolishing ICE is now +5 among all adults, and **+12 among independents**

said before that the first task of the next dem potus - and if you reply with that stupid fucking “oH yOu ThInK tHeRe WiLl Be ElEcTiOnS” shit i’m blocking your loser ass - is revenge

among the first orders of business should be a wealth tax and incinerating especially the vc class in silicon valley
One problem with having so many millionaires billionaires is that they're by definition so out of touch with lived experience and basic reality that they have no human compass anymore. People hate secret police forces kidnapping neighbours. You need to be very isolated to not to know that.
the trump people, business leaders and the dog-brained pundits in nyc and dc saw trump win in 2024 and thought “okay, we’re just gonna do fascism, the argument is over” and they’re all going to slowly wake up to the simple but true counterpoint: nuh uh
