I'm learning that for the moderates, accountability is good and relevant when it's politically motivated press-centered ethics complaints against their colleagues but we are very uncomfortable with it when bureau directors and deputy city administrators are involved.

Reminder that PPB boosted the narrative that these victims were gang members
DHS said that the woman CBP shot in the chest in Portland was “involved” in a gang shooting.

I just got tear gassed along with thousands of union members, many of whom had their families with them. Federal agents at the ICE facility tear gassed children. We must abolish ICE, DHS, and we must have prosecutions. I expect to see enforcement of our city code prohibiting the use of tear gas.

Today @councilorgreen.bsky.social and I sent a letter to Mayor Wilson urging the Executive Branch to use their administrative powers to protect Portlanders from the Federal Government. City council can pass policy but that policy is only as effective as the Executive Branch is willing to execute it.
