I’m areligious now, but damn I’m so happy I didnt grow up in a mega church. Just a small as southern church with way more elders than yute. Passed around that plate ONE TIME. Wasn’t no gucci wearing 30 year old trying guilt the folks into keeping the pastor’s admin laced in designer.

Sometimes, I think we get wrapped in the word “forgive” when a better word would be “accept”. If a lot of us “accepted” that so many of our fathers failed us, sat with that feeling, and then moved on, it’d hit better than “forgive”.
I think forgiveness lets people off the hook too easily.
