@sgj.bsky.social I just finished reading “The Only Good Indians” and it reminded me of a “haunting literature” class I had in my 1st undergrad year. Instead of stereotypical “ooh spooky scary” books, yours showed what it truly means to be haunted by something more tangible than paranormal - guilt.

It’s not talent - it’s over thirty years of learning from the best cetacean caretakers, trainers, and vets in the world. Fostering unique friendships with cetaceans is something I will do until the day I die.

An issue I don’t believe has been addressed regarding the deep cuts to SNAP, is how many grocery stores in low income areas will go out of business. Mom and pop, family owned markets. For many, almost all of their customers are on food assistance. The Krogers will just close their doors and move on.

I don’t think anyone is prepared for what they just did w/ ICE.
This is not a simple budget increase. It is an explosion - making ICE bigger than the FBI, US Bureau of Prisons, DEA,& others combined.
It is setting up to make what’s happening now look like child’s play. And people are disappearing.
