My pianist and I got to coach Britten’s “On this Island” with Roger Vignoles and Vignoles told me I had a great feel for Britten’s music 😭

Listen, I’ve only seen Rogue One once and I distinctly remember hating the end sequence with Vader. It‘s not shot to make him look scary; it’s shot to make him look like a badass as he mows down NPCs. Same reason I gave up on the Mandalorian after S2‘s ending with Luke doing much the same thing.
rogue one is bad folks. i have believed this since i saw it in theaters and no subsequent rewatch has changed my mind. basically a chop job until the final sequence, which is good (for star wars)

this has got to be one of the best things the onion has done in years
Have now seen ”The Boy and the Heron” three times since it was released and I’m finally starting to grasp its themes and notice the threads through the whole film. It is dense with meaning!

Oh wow, somebody finally articulated my whole cooking deal when I switched to a full-time office job four years ago. I‘ve finally accepted that I just have to have a snack when I get home and then “aaaaah hungryyyy” quiets down enough that I can find the energy to deal with dinner
The issue seems to be that I love thinking about breakfast food and lunch sandwiches, but care very little for the concept of dinner. Also, I get home from work hungry and with no interest in spending 90 minutes cooking before I eat, so then I just snack.
