Lots of clean tech can save money or improve lives (like keeping lights and heat on in this case). The Chattanooga utility is using tech to do both :)

Relying on ChatGPT to teach you about a topic leaves you with shallower knowledge than Googling and reading about it, according to new research that compared what more than 10,000 people knew after using one method or the other.

We have rescue pit mix that is THE kindest dog I’ve ever met: agree pit bulls are given a bad wrap. Bad owners are the prob (when there is 1 at all), not the bred. There is no other dog I would trust my kids with as much as I trust our pit mix. Kids take his bone, food and he just looks at them
How would @kristaldixon.bsky.social fix Atlanta?

Dog breed restrictions were born out of misinformation, stereotypes, and racism.

Let’s get rid of them.

Super good column in Bloomberg on the various soft propaganda ways that Big Oil shapes the cultural narrative on fossil fuels into something both manly and deeply romantic in a working class hero way as opposed to, you know, the thing that kills 91,000 Americans a year from air pollution alone.

Libraries are the best of government. Love this local story here in ga about one measure of benefits. If anything, I would guess there are even more benefits than are captured in their study.

Muted my first word ever on Bluesky: Nuzzi. She does not need any extra attention and eyeballs, even on negative commentary about her. Any attention gives her relevancy she does not deserve. . Delighted to have her out of my feed.

And lots of people don’t even realize how much transportation is costing them, or that we could do it differently: make streets more walkable and bike-able.
Transportation costs are the second largest burden on American family budgets (17%), after housing (33%)!
To address the affordability crisis, we must create cities with abundant housing of all types (subsidized, social, coop, market rate) and make walking, biking, and taking transit convenient.

That amount would fund SNAP for a year with money to spare.

Trump relentlessly boasts he’s brought gasoline prices way down. The truth is they’re still slightly higher year on year and have spent almost all of 2025 solidly higher.
Somehow no one in media ever corrects him.
