Note: Allegations of racial profiling aren’t just coming from congressional Democrats.

Over the past month, Cardinal Cupich, who oversees the Archdiocese of Chicago, has repeatedly claimed that his own priests have been racially profiled by DHS agents. religionnews.com/2026/02/10/c...

The politicians on the right who manufactured the moral panic over trans people absolutely see changing public opinion as one of their jobs. Anyone suggesting bullshit garbage like Yglesias is here has no business making a living as a pundit.
This is the last gasp of an argument that is lost. A critical mass of people now see that poll-following is just status quo politics.

I have been on about this for about five years now, and I feel very gratified that pressure has now built to change it.

Let’s go. Fight and win.

The Virginia Supreme Court has ruled that the state can put a redistricting plan on the ballot this spring that could add as many as four more Democratic seats in Congress.

The referendum will take place on April 21.

There will be a lot in here that will address SSA employees directly so if you know an SSA employee, please share with them! And if you see any errors or gaps in my knowledge, please let me know!

UCLA said no to Trump's abusive demands, went to court, and the govt is backing off.

Harvard said no to Trump's abusive demands, went to court, and the govt is left sputtering.

Columbia, Cornell, and Northwestern giving in was a big mistake. If only there were lessons against appeasing fascists.
This is a genuinely huge, sweeping victory today for the University of California—or rather, for us, its faculty, acting through our faculty associations, while the UC itself maintained a strict policy of deer-in-headlights silence.

The Trump admin has given up its appeal of a powerful injunction:

From what's been released about Epstein so far, that dude was corresponding with a shit-ton of people - power, prestige, intellect. A TON. The complete absence of any correspondence between him and Trump directly is GLARING.
They were close associates. But they never emailed once? Come on.

Serious question: did all of the men have a group chat poll about ai this week or something?
Once again: people are angry for very good reason, and this brand of post is perhaps one of the most tedious and bewildering. Practically every social media platform is rabidly pro-‘AI’ so are govts, academia, companies. This one small space being critical of AI is okay, I think.

You know how we always joke about how people before the 90’s look like they’re 20 years older than they’d look now? One reason was because the air people breathed pre-epa (created in 1970) was chew-ably THICK with pollution.

They are in fact concentration camps in the original usage of camps for concentrating a civilian population for control or collective punishment or to facilitate deportation or population transfer.

They are not concentration camps as a euphemism for extermination camps.
God the gall of @jaketapper.bsky.social lecturing that Minneapolis small business owner about the meaning of the word "concentration camp" while people are being crammed into poorly resourced buildings by the thousands and shuttled off never to be heard from again

Just another shitty real estate guy vamping when a project isn't going well.
Q: What do you tell Americans who are concerned that repealing the endangerment finding comes at a host to public health and the environment based on science?

TRUMP: I tell them don't worry about it. This was all a scam. They'll have more money to spend for healthcare.

Bondi crashes out over Epstein: "The Dow is over 50,000 dollars! I don't know why you're laughing. You're a great stock trader as I hear, Raskin. The Dow is over 50,000 right now. The S&P at almost 7,000, and the Nasdaq smashing records. That's what we should be talking about."

It opens up HUGE liability for the US government.

Trump is suing the IRS over substantially the same disclosures -- for $10 billion.
