Call your reps to demand they:
1) Abolish ice (every day!)
2) Vote no whenever the "Make Elections Great Again" Act comes up. It's an atrocious set of restrictions on elections made to make voting harder. Fuck that! Don't let them hear the end of it.

Remember. Squid can't use phones, so we have to.

As always, @parkermolloy.com's work is excellent and worth reading right away. Great commentary here, thank you for writing this
Today's newsletter: there's a new video from 11 days before Alex Pretti was shot to death. Some people refuse to believe it's real. I wrote about why that's going to be a problem moving forward: www.readtpa.com/p/thats-ai-i...

ICE needed to steal the data of everyone in this country and partner with Palantir to do their evil deeds. People in neighborhoods blowing on whistles and honking horns is often enough to defeat them. Somehow this thought came to me just now, and gave me a little bit of hope.

After being held in two of them as a boy, I fought for decades urging America to never again build concentration camps and put human beings in them. It breaks my heart to watch this happen twice now in my own lifetime.

Hoo boy, everyone should bookmark this @parkermolloy.com piece & make sure everyone involved in media reads it.

When I teach Vietnam, I explain that opposition to the war really grew in fits and starts. Some big rallies and visible protests, but also a steady stream of celebrities and ordinary folks breaking with their priors and taking a new stand.

This last month, this last week, feels like a real shift.

this (inspiring) thread on state AGs is possibly one of the strongest signs of people willing to use institutional backbone and say things out loud. plus acknowledging all the different parts of practicing democracy.
I wasn't sure what to expect from a group of Democratic state AGs, but I definitely was not expecting a long monologue about Ruby Ridge and the Boston Massacre www.theverge.com/policy/86588...

My take on the Jan 23 action in Minneapolis is that I don’t really care whether it’s a “true” general strike (we could argue about that all day).

What DOES matter is that it’s a bold and necessary escalation, and local labor leaders are publicly encouraging workers to join in anti-ICE resistance
