Liked Glass Onion at the time but glad Wake Up Dead Man is back among creaky old buildings, the vibe is undeniably a part of Knives Out’s charm and it was sorely missed

Stranger Things S1 was an event - it was when I realised how we consume TV has changed forever - but I've no idea how I got to the point where I couldn't care less about the show. It started off so good! Maybe when you take years between seasons you can't help but lose momentum and interest.

We watched A Biltmore Christmas and as far as Hallmark Christmas movies go it's in the S-tier, super charming, not quite as formulaic, and proof these kinds of films don't have to be bargain bin quality.

When your favourite band announces they’re supporting My Chemical Romance in Glasgow! Huge W for Idlewild.

Surprised by the poor reviews Alpha has gotten. It’s not as beguiling as Raw or Titane, but I was still touched by its directness. Found the concept of the dead turning into statues en masse as a result of a pandemic moving and provocative.

Somehow made it to 200 followers on TikTok quite quickly by gabbing about the pictures. Would love to see you there, if that’s your kind of thing: www.tiktok.com/@idlemild?_r...

Growing up is realising you can’t go see your favourite doom punk band in a crusty little basement because you’re seeing the Paddington musical that night

I once asked a bookseller at a large indie store how many people would have to buy a book for it to get the attention of the store buyer and cause an additional order and they said: Three.
I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.

Not saying I'll overrate a film just because it's slightly French but I was totally swept along by Champagne Problems. If it has some subtitles, it's basically arthouse, right?

Udo Kier looked like he belonged on screen and so he did, for over 200 movies, what a life lived. He’ll never be forgotten because he was unlike any other. A sad loss but an unshakable legacy.

It’s always been the case that Twitter played too big a part in the cultural conversation, imo. Because journos and politicos were on there, they overestimated how much other people cared. Most people weren’t on Twitter and even fewer are now.
Twitter had to turn off its location feature within hours because thousands of prominent and "verified" MAGA accounts turned out to be foreign and I think it's hilarious that Elon was the one who exposed them all

Feel bad for Wicked: For Good, it’s not the film’s fault that the source material is really wobbly. They made the most of it with part 1 but the second half of the show ain’t great.
