For this goodnight post, we honor Dr. Angella D. Ferguson (1925–2026), pediatrician and sickle cell disease pioneer. As a Black woman physician when few were allowed in the room, she chose a disease others ignored, built evidence where little existed, and changed pediatric care forever. 🌙

The Georgian Dream regime also imposes heavy fines on anyone with an entrepreneurial status for engaging in "political activity," which could be as little as a social media post.

It took me more than 4 years to capture a scene I could only dream of. A magnificent Condor soars above the peaks of Argentina's Mount Fitz Roy, as they are spot lit in beautiful morning light.

A reminder to the news media: “conflicting accounts” is what you say BEFORE the incontrovertible video evidence appears. After that, your job is to ask why one side is lying, not to repeat the lie and pretend no one knows the truth.

Dozens of shadow fleet tankers have traversed the English Channel since promises of tougher stance.

Danish Straits see about the same numbers.

BBC is not clear on if they mean flagless or flagged tankers, but either way there are lots.

Pic related, sanctioned tankers this minute.

I'm surprised we don't yet have announced boycotts of the World Cup, but unless the World Cup goes off totally implausibly and improbably smoothly for international athletes and fans alike, it's hard for me to imagine that the '28 Olympics in LA won't get hit hard with boycotts.

You know this new FAA notice from Jan 16th that appears to prohibit drone flights within 3000 feet of ICE/DHS?

Well, me and a number of others have been trying for days, and we've still heard *nothing* back from official government sources who might be able to clarify what this means in practice.
Just noticed this new FAA NOTAM from Jan 16th, which prohibits drone operators from flying within 3000 feet laterally or 1000 feet above DHS, DOD, and DOE "facilities and mobile assets, including ground vehicle convoys and their associated escorts."

Carbon monoxide deaths spike during power outages. Many times, this is due to portable generators being placed too close to people's homes or run indoors. Make sure you have working carbon monoxide alarms. Run your generator outdoors, at least 20ft away from your home.

Still have ‘Wrong’ on cassette, tho’

When the monopoly right granted by copyright is compounded by the speed and scale of media company mergers, we end up with a crisis in creativity. www.eff.org/deeplinks/2...
Copyright Should Not Enable Monopoly
There’s a crisis of creativity in mainstream American culture. We have fewer and fewer studios and record labels and fewer and fewer platforms online that serve independent artists and creators.
