I wish mental health disorders were seen by everyone as the invisible disability that they are. I had someone last week tell me that I shouldn’t write about my bipolar here where I’m identifiable and I’m like … if you had an arm chopped off in your 30s do you think it would ever come up?

I hate it, thanks.
I can build a feed with replies turned off if I want.
I *like* seeing replies from people I don’t follow. That’s how I get to meet them and decide if I do want to start following them.

we’re also changing which replies show up in Following. there was consistent feedback from large accounts that they unintentionally bring a crowd of people when replying to small accounts. we’re changing the heuristic so you only see a reply in Following if you follow both parent *and* thread author
- we’re also only going to show replies when you follow both the person who’s replying, the person they’re replying to, and the root author
in practice this means you won’t see the same root post twice, and you’ll only see root posts from people you already know — for the Following feed

100% cosign with Deral. Those of us who are neurodivergent, LGBTQIA+, and/or properly wearing respirators during the still ongoing Covid pandemic are "weird."
You don't stop fascism by upholding social norms. Evil people (GOP, Dems, billionaires) aren't "weird," they're EVIL.

This is especially confusing to me in Britain, where "coconut" is a racist term black Asian people use to describe other black Asian people for looking black on the outside but secretly being white inside.

As I see it, this is deeply, profoundly fucked up.
Why? Because of all the things people might put on paper, a fan letter is supposed to come from the unique place of an individual expressing their own true emotions. Writing it with AI substitutes machine bullshit for a human emotional connection.

idk if anyone in my reach knows an answer but it’s disability pride month so I may as well try: the pink/red part of my Ambutech came has been peeling up incessantly since shortly after I got it and I cannot get it to stay stuck down. What can I do??
