O'Neill cylinders, like in Gundam, need to be in counter rotating pairs so procession doesn't make them wobble away from the sun and freeze the occupants in darkness.
But are there materials strong enough to connect two 4-mile-long rotating objects like that? I never see it asked and I don't know.

Wanting to know about ordinary people in extraordinary worlds isn't weird, right?
I think I'm weird. When I get into a fictional setting I want what I think of as the view from street level. What is life like for people who aren't the super special protagonists? What do people do when they aren't on adventures? What's the food like? How does magic affect normal life? Etc.

If a faction's prior contributions to the plot justify them getting more time in the spotlight, then the next thirty novels should be about the Word of Blake. We owe them for reshuffling the deck in the 3070s, right?
