I'm still sulking but I sent this card to show that if you can have dirty week-ends in Bridlington - we can have dirty week-ends in York.

Covers to the Big Christmas Double Issues of the Radio / TV Times for 1975. Two very different approaches to the season. I rather like the TVT one. Sooty, keeping everyone afloat with his Rubber Bum Pump.

OTD 2018: #DoctorWho The Witchfinders
Life is righteous when you’re a 17th Century landowner: you have a big wig; the King will visit you; you can get any woman who disturbs you drowned as a witch.
You’ve only two things to fear.
It’s in the trees. It’s coming.
And the Doctor.

‘Doctor Who was never political until [moving target of the last couple of years]!’
So, the Budget…
OTD 1977: The Sun Makers
Prices rise, taxes grind, the wealthy in power laugh at poor citizens and even the cost of dying is too high.
Just a humorous little story. Nothing serious. Nothing political.

A fabulous piece by Jude Rogers that teases out fascinating behind the scenes stories with aplomb and leaves us with a question about the lack risk in our now embattled public service broadcasting. thequietus.com/opinion-and-...

Another shout out to the incomparable duo for this fascinating appraisal of Harry’s Game. I don’t listen to podcasts very much but this one appears in several iterations, including blogs and video versions. Worth your time. Even my husband approves and subscribes! Believe me, he’s very discerning.

The first month, getting to know each other, was a little difficult. The second month, trying to come to terms with what they'd got to know about each other in the first month, was much easier. The third month, when the box arrived, was very tricky indeed.

The Five Doctors, a special feature-length episode of #DrWho produced in celebration of the programme's 20th anniversary, is screened in the UK on BBC1.
However, as seen from these newspaper ads, various American PBS channels had already shown it.
