I’m dying to listen to this but am loathe to give Bezos any of my hard earned.

Thank god for free trials.

A magnificent, balls-to-the-wall Star Wars movie with all the goofy, clumsy, heart filled, action packed, space operatic adventure awesomeness turned to 11!

After responding in good faith to a post inviting people to comment a movie they love with a poor RT score, I was summarily blocked by the user.

Yes, you have every right to do that, but surely the “safe-space” implied in the invitation is negated by the immediate blocking.

Online culture sucks
Screen shot: response to quoted repost now blocked. Response includes Rotten Tomatoes Rise of Skywalker score and comment noting my enjoyment of the film.

Only people who actually know how to watch them. Nothing gets me more irritated in a theatre than the asshole constantly scrolling their messages. Then they get up and whine about how the movie didn’t make sense.

Would love to see her make a Star Wars movie?

Perhaps following on from where her father left off?

Bryce Dallas Howard says she wants to continue directing Star Wars projects

“I love it so, so, so much. I yearn to stay on this path of being able to be in that world…Whatever it is, if I can be of service to Lucasfilm, I will”

Please note: I know this is not all fans. So many of you out there were heartbroken at the discontinuation of this series.

Still, I think the point is valid. So many Star Wars fans seem to think hating on it is just part of being a fan.

It’s fucking not.

The fans: let me just say it. The Star Wars online fandom is fucking broken. Fucking lads racing to have the best dunk with an awesome “hot take”.

Acknowledged joy must be strictly ironic.

We’re a fandom of edge lords terrified of showing reverence for a franchise about space wizards.

Disney: everything I have leveled at Lucasfilm can also be applied here. As always, rather than stand behind its creatives and studios, or show any faith in its own product, chose once more to react immediately with vague excuses about budget and ratings mere days after the final episode aired.

Lucasfilm: created a great show but had no plan on how they would follow through. They didn’t learn from history or pre-empt an obvious hate campaign festering for months before release. They allowed the social narrative to be framed by the worst voices. They failed their show and its creators.

I’ve been doing a rewatch of The Acolyte and … man, it’s such a fucking shame.

It’s so much better than I even remembered. I have so many thoughts but at present don’t know how to express them.

I’m disappointed with everything about this show EXCEPT the show itself. Lucasfilm, Disney, the fans …

I consider myself a huge Simpsons fan and I haven't watched the show since the 1900s.

I just think that's neat.

“Be Right Back” is the episode that made me a lifelong BM fan.

A lot of people are gonna be whiny bitches about this after a decade of saying they wanted someone to "help map out the franchise."

I think Sequel-era characters can benefit from Dave Filoni's involvement. Plus when this movie was revealed by the trades, it was said he was in the writer's room.

RUMOR: Dave Filoni said to be heavily involved in development of NJO that he could have a co-writing credit on it by the end.

A sign of Filoni continuing role at Lucasfilm as a James Gunn type head?

I think The Mandalorian & Grogu will serve as a kind of book end to the Star Wars streaming period. While we will still get more Disney+ shows I really think Lucasfilm’s plan is to launch into a new period in 2027 with the 50 year anniversary.

Hey there. I’m from Western Australia and have loved Star Wars since I was given an ESB read-along in 1980.

I love all the Star Wars and can’t wait for the sequel renaissance (which is coming)

Favourites:

Skywalker: Rey
Quip: “Would it help if I got out and pushed?”
Thing: Millennium Falcon
Rey Skywalker Leia and Han in scene from Empire Strikes Back: “Would it help if I got out and pushed?” The Millennium Falcon flying over the Jakku desert towards two oncoming tie fighters.
