Someone has sure already made this observation but the fact they can convert all those empty warehouses into prison camps means they could have converted them into housing, community centers, job training centers or, hell, libraries or schools all along. It’s always a matter of will not resources.

This needs more exposure - you wouldn't know it from social media but Dems have cut DHS -> ICE out of the money.

You wouldn't know it from social media, but DHS is shut down. This is an impressive legislative feat from the Democratic minority. The next time you see a bot "Dems aren't doing anything" post remember - they're doing what they can it is great.

5 things to know about the shutdown at the Department of Homeland Security
The sprawling agency saw its baseline funding expire after lawmakers left town for a week-long recess, but without a deal to rein in the conduct of federal immigration officers.

@emilyrose.bsky.social watched episode 6 of STSA - it's great! I loathed episodes 1-5, 6 is totally different. Good acting, good cinematography, no insane CGI/bloom/lense flare, good plotting and scene structure, audio was fine. Some flaws, but finally gets the basics right and the acting is amazing

I feel this way about pretty much all vaccine-preventable infectious diseases. You shouldn't be allowed to dump cyanide into municipal drinking water and you shouldn't be allowed to recreationally spread viruses around shared public spaces.
My most authoritarian opinion is that the MMR vaccine should be mandatory, with only medical (not religious or floofy) exemptions allowed. www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/0...

Is love the fire that burns in your breasts, or the trust you put in someone to make decisions when you're unconscious?
I’ve noticed how I think about love has less to do with fireworks and more to do with someone steadying the console while I recalibrate. Somewhere along the way, Star Trek slipped in this idea that affection can look like trusting someone else to take the bridge for a minute.
February 13, 2026 at 4:46 PM
Remember kids to start a fire you need:
Starter material (kindling like paper or bark)
Secondary material (sticks/branches)
Primary Fuel source (logs etc)
Lighter fluid can help start fire, but it doesn't burn long / hot enough to fire primary Fuel sources unless used in very large quantities
that’s a wine mom imo. we count those
KMBC: "A woman tried to set a fire at a South Kansas City warehouse that had been rumored as a possible ICE detention center. Earlier today, the company that owns the property confirmed it is no longer moving forward with a sale to the U.S. government."

And @schumer.senate.gov must resign
“Democrats are trying to impose guardrails on how Trump’s fascist paramilitary force looks and operates, and how Trump can deploy his fascist paramilitary force, when the truth is that his fascist paramilitary force must be eliminated.”

Just watched StarFleet Academy ep5 with my spouse.
It's hard. There's good bones in there. The acting is really good. The problem is the writing, the plotting and the cinematography. All just God awful.

I cannot over-emphasize how important it will be for people to make a plan to vote early in-person this year.
February 6, 2026 at 7:10 PM
Same too if you're claiming there isn't going to be an election, that voting doesn't matter, or both parties are the same
if you are out there stirring shit about who you won't vote for in 2028 when we have a rather important midterm election coming up...

you are a chaos agent.

period.

Vote like your life and freedom depend on it.
I'll be honest, I don't expect fair elections for the midterms. But I'm going to push for voting anyway because we can't just hand this country over to them. We've got to fight to the bitter end to restore Democracy in this country.

I'm just going to keep this up while they do.
It's super weird to see a coordinated campaign across many platforms "sure Dems have a huge advantage this election that's why it's super important they don't vote because voting doesn't change things" when it's super obvious voting changes things.
I get it. We don't want to discourage people from voting.

But do you really think they're going to leave just because we vote them out?

"Those elections were fraudulent, we're not swearing those people in."

We are going to have to be in Washington D.C. by the millions to take back power.

I did not have Gavin Newsom speaking truth to power on my bingo card but here we are IDK
Gavin Newsom: “ You will not have a country if he rigs this election — you will have a president who will be running for a third term

He is wrecking this country, wrecking the economy. He's a lawless president. Wake up, America — wake up to what's going on”

strange to me that a lot of people on this website simultaneously agree that the administration is run by incompetents who struggle to carry out their agenda without major political blowback AND that they’ll pull off a complex and sophisticated effort to rig elections and prevent defeat in November
