Saikat Chakrabarti wants to be the leftist successor to Nancy Pelosi. The media's even called him SF's Zohran Mamdani.

But some local progressives harbor deep suspicions of Chakrabarti's track record. Here's why:

What makes Saikat run?
In his race to beat Nancy Pelosi in 2026, Saikat Chakrabarti’s friends and allies are calling him San Francisco’s Zohran Mamdani. Progressives are a bit more moderate on him

Help Rion rebuild his life 💜

Rion has lived in Oakland’s Peralta Hacienda neighborhood for years, always with his dog Baby and kitten Atlas by his side. Despite being unhoused for over a decade, he’s kind, gentle, and takes pride in keeping himself and his space clean. 🧵

Huge thanks to everyone who came out for tonight’s serve and to Martin de Porres’s House of Hospitality for sharing their space. We served PB&Js, apples, carrots, and hot meals with salad. Fun fact: we’ve never missed a Friday share in the last 4 years. 🍀

PSA: No Friday serves this month! Our space is hosting a shelter. We’re working on an alternate serve for March 7—stay tuned.

For other Fridays, we’ll cook 4–6 p.m. and serve guests. Can’t come by 4:30? Bring food at 6 or help clean. Out by 8.

Need a meal? Message us on Signal—we’ll help.

This is a full purge of every single LGBTQ employee at the NSA. Rufo is falsely mischaracterizing a LGBTQ employee resource group as a "sex chat" to create pretext to fire every single member in it.

This is a playbook they will run to purge the entire federal government.

I adore Food Not Bombs. I love all of them.

They fed me and gave me veggies when I was hungry.

And we are all welcome at my local F.N.B. regardless of financial or immigrant status or any other thing.

why do a swastika instead of, say, the three arrows? again, it desensitizes people, may confuse them of your intent or allow them to misrepresent it, and is triggering for victims of nazi persecution and their descendants.

And that's number four by my count. The Overton Window has been moving for a while but we might be looking back on Musk's salute as another turning point.

And when you refuse to call this out for what it is -- straight-up Nazism -- it helps it metastasize.

I feel so sick. Enough with the lies, enough with the games. They know exactly what they're doing.

This is a neo-Nazi movement. Proudly so. The only reason they've kept it coded up until now was to take advantage of those who didn't want to believe it.

No more looking away. Face up to what it is.

Credible death threats to politicians by right-wing extremists is a core part of Trump's authoritarian playbook, which is why Trump pardoned 1,500 credible-death-threat-making extremists on day one.

“our streets” means all of us. you included. you have as much a right as anyone to decide for yourself when, how, and where to engage in political action. it is perfectly okay to disagree with someone’s plan and make your own instead. you can give yourself permission.
