China is not a military threat to Australia. Acting as a proxy for an aggressive and declining US hegemony is the real danger, writes John Menadue. #auspol #China #AUKUS #IndoPacific
China has neither the intent nor the capability to attack us
Australia faces no credible military threat from China. The real danger lies in uncritical alignment with US strategy, fear-driven rhetoric and the steady erosion of national sovereignty.

Yes, there should be Bondi royal commission. It must focus on Home Affairs, our worst department
The Coalition is correct: we need a royal commission in the wake of the Bondi atrocity. And Home Affairs should be its main target — its constant failings may have contributed to this nightmare.

I've never been more convinced Australia has the worst mainstream journalists in the world. Simple, thick, racist, ahistorical, bootlicking dipshits that lie and screech more than they think and feel. This weaponisation of a tragedy against anti-genocide voices is grotesque.

Australians know the difference between Jewish people and Israel.

In normal circumstances most Australians think about people being Jewish as much as they think about people being Presbyterian, it’s mostly of little interest.
