Yes. We need more truth and empathy in politics.

Not only are we at record numbers of members and growing every day - this is our highest ever poll rating.

We're just getting started.

This is the politics of the 99% Vs the 1% for a country we can all afford to live in - plenty of room to grow.

Why they don't just set up rules which lead to the segregation of the transphobes off to separate gender-neutral toilet cubicles is beyond me. There you go, transphobes, your own little space, and leave the rest of us women (cis- and trans- alike) to our ladies toilets.

Exactly. Because they would have to decide the balance internally.

Still very important to have town & country both well represented inside any decision-making bodies inside the authority. Can't have one trampling on the other.

Well, *sure*, if we want to go to Vulgaria and rescue children from the child catcher, flying cars are perfect for that!

You don't tailor it to the bike configurations, you get machine learning algorithms to distinguish human behaviour: someone using a key to unlock their bike is going to have a different pattern to someone breaking a lock. (I also work with computers, ~40yrs.)

This is why one county authority helps, not Oxford vs other regions.
sharoncurtis.bsky.social
This is exactly the sort of thing that computers could and should be expected to help with. The police should have access to software trained to spot ordinary vs suspicious removals of bikes from the racks. Then the footage to be reviewed is minimised. Funding?

I'm sure Starmer's words weren't even so much as inciting a milkshake against him, let alone actual violence.

Here's a photo of the latest flags taken this morning.
Headington (Green Rd) roundabout on a cloudy day, with a few cars using it. 9 of its lampposts are visible, almost all have two flags on them: a St George's flag, and a Union Jack. The nearest lamppost has its flags streaming in the wind.
sharoncurtis.bsky.social
These flags got removed a few days ago.

As of this evening, another batch of flags (round 4) has been hoisted onto the lampposts. Saw the group of men with their ladders at dusk today putting them up.
headingtonnews.bsky.social
There are about 25 flags flying high on the lampposts at the Headington roundabout, including England, Scotland, Wales, the Union Jack, the Red Ensign, Veterans Day, Royal Navy, and Victory over Japan

It is not a pointless floor. It gives those of us with a scientific bent, but without the appreciation for the arts, a little frisson every time we walk over it.

I would feel a whole lot better about this if I hadn't heard that although it's supposed to provide a world-class concert hall, said hall is allegedly not big enough to fit a full symphony orchestra.

Lot of lampposts on that roundabout. 20 or so. And lots of people travel through.

Someone had only just taken the last lot of flags down, and now here they are, back with their friends, the military flags.
