Very few journalists are financially independent like Marisa is. A lot more could be but it takes a shitload of courage on the reporting side and a shitload of shameless promotion on the marketing side and not many are up for the task.

I think about how straight men are socialized into being husbands or partners, as an example. So much time and thought on how to "lead" women, no time spent on just how to exist in community with women. Priorities fucked up. Lots of other kinds of examples.

I really don't understand the delusion because the intimate partner violence and gun crime stats in Utah say that there's regular violence. The suicide rate is definitely part of the gun crime stats, but it isn't just self harm
