Time to post this for the hundredth time: one of the Koch Bros ran for VP on the Libertarian ticket in 1980. He lost because...read it. So they learned and spent billions over 40 years, creating hundreds of non-profits, economic schools, & brainwashing GOP with Tea Party BS, leading to DUMP.

In no other modern democratic country would this be possible. Only a perfect storm of ignorance and stupidity in the United States could have accomplished this. 😳👇

If this happens, it's pretty much game over folks. The hope that we can resist through normal political means is dead.

Once the regime establishes this level of control, the only avenue left is to overthrow them, and if they control the US military, that's nearly impossible.

For which they are so well paid, they've not even embarrassed that they have betrayed the Constitution and are forever memorialized as Venal: The Robber's Supreme Court of the United States, a Syndicate of Traitors.

I was reminded of the despicable Supreme Court amicus brief written by 24 philosophers and associated right-wing cranks that have suffered no social repercussions for their harming of trans people. All of them are a disgrace to the profession; all operate with impunity www.aei.org/wp-content/u...

I've lived here for 73 years and never have I ever imagined this was what Americans wanted America to be.

Unless it was Black-Americans being brutalized, of course.

Now the entire of the US govt. is flushed into a cesspool of bullies, rapists, sex traffickers, racists, traitors and thieves.
Three times she’s been stopped and goons have demanded “show us your papers”.

And if they feel like it they smash your stuff, and pound on you; and all the while you know it’s going to happen again.

And you’ve done nothing more than be a person they felt like abusing.
“Traumatized, humiliated, degraded.”

The nurse, a US citizen, 4’11”, 85 lbs, says she was following orders when she was dragged out of her car by masked immigration agents in Florida.

It was the 3rd time she had been stopped and told to produce ID.

The one year anniversary of Yoon's failed martial law takeover just passed and lots of untold stories came out proving that THE ONLY REASON KOREA IS STILL A FREE COUNTRY IS BECAUSE PEOPLE DISOBEYED ILLEGAL ORDERS.

The coup was over in hours because people said no.

Focusing on a single incident makes it resonate with the public more. It doesn't somehow justify the other killings, it illustrates the larger problem.

The right is good at this, sometimes in bad faith. For example, Laken Riley.

Basically "one death is a tragedy, a million deaths is a statistic."
Once the debate centers on whether the 2nd strike was legal, the first 21 strikes have been accepted as baseline. But the murder of the two survivors doesn’t make the other 21 any more legal. Selective outrage, not silence, is how authoritarianism becomes normalized @tadstoermer.bsky.social

So it was really Trump that pulled the trigger. He's good at that.
■ This Afghan snapped!

■ Most of his life he experienced the stress/danger of a daily US war.

■ He joined a US special force to help/protect US soldiers. Risked his life!

■ He obtained refugee status and arrived in USA.

■ Then w/5 children Trump told him to return to Afghan - a death sentence!

USA Today quotes Shawn VanDiver, president of AfghanEvac saying Lakanwal joined a Zero Unit at age 15 (his brother was deputy CO of the unit).

That said, most of the Taliban fighters he faced were teenagers, some <15, too.

Elad hits the nail on the head in this piece. People like Carlson and Fuentes understand the systems and networks they can exploit better than most. Countering their hate requires the same understanding.
New piece.

On how media, leaders, and all the rest of us focus breathlessly on individual personalities on the far right instead of the networks they’re part of.

And in realizing that, we can find the answer for how to defeat them.

Networks, networks, networks.
Americans are waking up to right-wing antisemitism. We're still ignoring the root problem
Concerns about antisemitism on the right have focused on individuals like Nick Fuentes and Tucker Carlson. But networks are the real issue.

I've been waiting since WW2 -- my dad served; Vietnam -- a brother and a husband served. Still the US govt. treats our soldiers and veterans like they treat our teachers, women, children, and elderly: "Least important, don't care, we lie. Billionaires matter."
As the eldest of Millennials, I've had to offer FAR more support than the VA to my family members and close friends that saw half the shit this guy did in the sandbox. VA support is non-existent for our own. Not even an afterthought for the allies we brought back with us.

Probably by 16 or 17 he was doing night raids directed by CIA or SOCOM against his own citizens where civilian kill rates were far higher than the "high value targets" they were trying for. He saw and did shit most US troops would get a 100% PTSD disability rating for by the VA.

CIA funding and SOCOM training for any local militant group willing to do the dirty work the CIA or US military wants. Zero concern for how locals are recruited or their ages. This specific guy was probably 15 or 16. But CIA doesn't care. He was just a local. Trained by our best Army Rangers.
