Also worth noting, having someone make a cool joke or a meme or a piece of art based on a thing you did? Feels incredibly gratifying. Having someone slop out some AI shit feels insulting. It's worth less than the last minute obligatory birthday card some uncaring relative gets you and just signs

hot take: The portrait area of ttrpg character sheets suck. its wasted space. Anyone who cant draw always leaves it blank, and anyone who can draw prefers to draw on a piece of blank paper for more space.

One of the things I really really wanted to include in Godstorm was a complexity meter for classes. It takes after lancer, and you'd be hard pressed to tell me that the Tortuga and Hydra are even in the same ballpark of complexity.
I will also point out: A lot of systems have more and less involved characters, and players definitely need guidance on -how- involved the character choice they made is. It sucks to shoot it down, but sometimes they are not prepared for all the rules/systems a character deals with.
As much as I, the GM, might say 'hey, you have two weeks, make your character' a lot of people need guidance for it, are too embarrassed to ask, or can't set aside a ton of time. A session zero will help, but then everyone is under pressure as well if there are tons of choices.

I hate not being the target audience of any multiplayer game man. I don't want to craft, I don't want to repair, I don't want a roguelike, I don't want anything larger than a small team, say 10.

Opt in death is always a hot topic and I have yet to find someone who despises opt in death while actually having experience with opt in death. Everyone who has a visceral response to this just hasn't tried it.
