I think there's server issues. Last week, OnlyPosts was jumping back to an older point on both mobile and desktop clients, and I've seen invalid handles and posts refusing to load. While I could say that could be down to the volume of active users, the staff crashing out might also be a factor

That's extending into case by case matters, as at the end of the day it's the Judges that'll have the final say. But before the case, or dragging it out to drain funds from the other side, are two flavours of litigation trolling, so that's a fair assessment.

Maybe we should look at the wording of the bills that they're focusing on before tying it to a sentencing matter? You'd be surprised to learn this is also about abortions, wage gaps, sexual preferences....

Would it be clearer if "ruining the other side financially" is the actual goal rather than "just winning"?

It's not so much a part of recouping fees to some people. It's about maximising the chances of destroying the other side in any capacity they can manage.

I'm honestly stunned at the lengths they're trying to go to in order to prevent the release of those files, despite the many instances of recordings and pictures of the pair together that's already available to the public. At this point, that's practically an admission.

But, I think this needs to be something that is forced to pop up everytime someone tries to make this accusation.

It's never a clever idea to assume someone who is showing some understanding, however "correct" or "incorrect" it may be, to think they don't know anything about any topic.

But having someone say I don't get trolling, or "clown farming" on the Steam boards while I have a 17-year-old account and an extensive post history on said board, is a tad silly.

But then, not immediately apparent from either here or the client without my ID, so I can understand the attempt there.

I mean, "social media poster tells expert in field they don't know about said subject" has been a meme since the dawn of Twatter, but I think a forum poster of 30 years knows about forum trolling a wee bit....

Now, yes assigning a "number" or "experience" to posts can encourage people to spam. I've seen someone admitting to starting arguments *just* for post exp.

But again. This behaviour on the forums has been a standard for over a decade and a half.

Is that a more complete answer?

As for the matter raised, predatory micro transactions use a lot more than "here's a shiny skin". Making a game more grind intensive, using Skinner box style gambling tactics, implied scarcity and FOMO. Not "hehe, I'ma call this woke to make the people mad. I'm a smart person".
