not super thrilled by how heavy my line weights are by default but it’s also how i drew as a teenager sooooooooo i wonder if im too old to change…

nobody judge me for not having drawn anything in literal years but i have to start somewhere (google images)
two head portraits of a man and a woman

drawing is fixing my anxiety and depression because i’m getting so mad at the results that i want to buy a sketchbook and draw 1562957838478 naked bodies until i’m not ass at drawing elbows anymore

in all sincerity i think seeing a year of horrible AI slop art has convinced me i need to be making more art even if it looks bad because at least i made it

tried to get back into digital painting but i bought an apple pencil that was incompatible with my ipad model.

this is why it’s never a good idea to try new things. stay in a cycle of old habits forever.

unless it was funded by AIPAC i’m not sure they would be able to afford those townhomes

i’m losing it at “prospect park is filled with drones!!” also WHY ARE THEY IN BROOKLYN. YUPPIE BROOKLYN EVEN, NOT INDUSTRIAL SUNSET PARK BROOKLYN WHERE I FEEL LIKE IT WOULD BE EASIER TO HIDE BIG TOYS

just checked out murakami’s latest book at the library. read his description of a teenage girl in the first chapter, and then immediately checked the book back in. somehow i thought he would have outgrown this literary trait of his 😭 it’s ok i can read the other books i found

six6jiang.bsky.social
dw gio no matter what u post u will always be Mountain Dew Man to me… which may be worse actually?
six6jiang.bsky.social
just extremely grotesque to see how many people don’t believe writers should prioritize being able to pay their rent, just as they would prioritize paying theirs

i hate the talking point of “game journalists should help indies” first of all press is not here to help devs they are here to feed their families, second of all how dare— (i am dragged away by all of my well meaning friends)
six6jiang.bsky.social
thanks but dw at the time of publication a lot of PR people (whose livelihoods directly hinged on being able to pitch well) were glad to have a no-nonsense guide

I'm sorry I'm sorry I won't be better I won't improve and that is a promise

you know what i should be nice. so in 2022 i asked my editors if i could write an indie guide to pitching a mainstream pub like kotaku and they said yes.

this might be outdated info but also i think indies do kind of suffer from having No money to hire real PR so here's me evening the playing field

game journalists are not supposed to help marketing and publishers/studios as its own goal, that is antithetical to the professional standards of journalism. if you make some sales off our articles that’s nice but it’s not the reason we hit publish.
six6jiang.bsky.social
yes i know i’ve reviewed many indie games as a full time permanent writer at kotaku lol but the point is that you can’t expect everyone in such a high turnover field to be able to hit that sweet spot every time and also re: nobody has jobs right now
