At a moment when SNAP is getting cut for 41 million Americans and groceries are almost prohibitively expensive, I had better not see anything about financial literacy classes.

Financial literacy classes for the poor implies that poverty is their fault.

They don’t need classes. They need finances!

There are people in America who are angrier that people have access to SNAP benefits than they are that their tax dollars fund genocide.

All this talk about SNAP shows me how committed we are to knowing as little about our neighbors as possible yet how quickly we exploit power dynamics based in privilege to control them the second we are inconvenienced.

The Republic has fallen, this isn’t a normal shutdown. This is a coup, Republicans refuse to negotiate or even return to session. They have ceded their power to Trump who is illegally spending from the treasury as he wishes.

I think we need to start viewing this game differently.

As in, the GOP Congress is onboard with the shutdown permanently. There is no intention of getting back to work. That's the plan. The coup continues.
