The NYTimes helps those distorting reality as part of an info war

2024 Billionaire Round-Up - Institute for Policy Studies
It was a great year for billionaires in America — although their ranks held steady, their wealth grew dramatically.

NYTimes employees write and speak in order to be read and listened to - they see no other obligation. To us who have given up on the NYTimes and canceled our subscriptions as loud as we could - where do we turn to next? Who can point to their income stream? What advertisers fund them?

Chicago has more people than Wyoming, Vermont, Alaska, North and South Dakota, and Delaware combined. People in Chicago share two senators with 7 million other people in Illinois. Those smaller states have 12 senators all to themselves.

Social Studies teachers talking with students about events in Chicago should make note of the fact that Cook County Illinois is home to more than 5 million people, a population greater than each of 26 states.

Here's part of The Petition of Right in delivered to King Charles I in 1628, referencing Parliament's restriction of King Edward III's authority in 1340, laws and events familiar to the founders when they anchored our government on the rule of law. Close to 700 years of law are under attack today.

"The money changers have fled from their high seats in the temple of our civilization. We may now restore that temple to the ancient truths. The measure of the restoration lies in the extent to which we apply social values more noble than mere monetary profit." FDR

I'd go with "embarasing"

Serious question - "Have you no sense of decency?" The clarity of the law is unquestionable, yet you insist on writing it isn't. Do you lack any sense of the values of propriety, honesty and integrity or do you simply dismiss them at your employers insistence?

They got off too easy for "weapons of mass destruction"

"No free man shall be seized or imprisoned or stripped of his rights or possessions, or outlawed or exiled, or deprived of his standing in any way, nor will we proceed with force against him, or send others to do so, except by the lawful judgment of his equals or by the law of the land." Magna Carta

Thanks for the book reference

Came across these clauses from the Magna Carta while reading Richard Ovenden's "Burning the Books" - made we wonder if the Supreme Court has a copy. We're witnessing more than the destruction of a system of rights developed in 1789 - we're watching the ones from 1215 evaporate before our very eyes

Where exactly is that money right now?

The DoD defines information superiority as “the capability to collect, process, disseminate an uninterrupted flow of information to achieve or promote specific objectives over a specific enemy while exploiting or denying that ability to the enemy.” www.c4i.org/jp3_13.pdf Is this an information war?

Most HS history teachers fail to take their students much farther than an inaccurate trickle-down economics Reagan lesson a life in the 80s project in the last week of school. They talk more about the cotton gin than the internet. Shouldn't the Iraq war get as much time as the Spanish American War?
smaher24.bsky.social
If only the NYTimes got that sorta treatment

Finding a mistake in a textbook is like finding tool you didn't know you had, but desperately need. Elementary school teachers looking for a good Social Studies lesson for next week can use a mistaken definition of "Geography" as a tool to help students think in abstract ways tinyurl.com/mr3yb2sa

The Talmud is wrong? Plato's Symposium is wrong? The American Medical Association is wrong? American Psychological Association? Supreme Court of India? Australian Bureau of Statistics? US District Judge Ana C. Reyes? You have to reject a lot of sources to force an ideology of just two genders.

The MAGA monocultural revolution is so thorough that Hegseth made it a priority to honor soldiers who carried out war crimes in 1890.
