i've gotten to the point where i almost recoil at the thought of watching a netflix limited series because they are so often stretching a 2 or 3-episode plot to the limits of audience patience, and usually doing so by the way of infuriating timeline jumps or non-linear storytelling, and i just. Sooooo I finally heard back from them and they recognize me from my many years as a Patreon subscriber *and* they said I have an impressive background! (Which is objectively true lol but it is vv nice that they recognize this!)

I think my yard guy blew all my leaves to the edge of my yard instead of mulching them into the lawn like I asked. Now I am kinda worried the leaves will smother all my tree roots.
Google says that is a thing that happens, but it does seem like an unsustainable way to be a tree, so I am skeptical.

once again forced to pirate the ebook i legally own because the publisher has refused to release a DRM-free version of it, and when i tried to read it on the desktop app of the bookseller platform i bought it from, it wouldn't let me download my file or deploy text-to-speech. sigh.

omg artemis just for the first time in her entire history living with me expressed interest in food that was not her regular cat food/treats. it is impossible to get her to show interest in *any* food, she always sniffs and walks away outraged lol.

i try not to judge people based on what they ship but i confess whenever i encounter a reylo in the wild i'm a little like
"Your honest voice shines when you work on dismantling the desire to be noteworthy" is the single piece of advice I would give to every writer if I could. Applies equally to fic writers who obsess over kudos and reader stats. That way lies self-hatred/insecurity/burnout. Write and make art for YOU.
The yearly SFF award cycle is cursed social noise that is a distraction from art. And depends a lot on how popular an author is as a person in the SFF circles.
Best advice to new writers is not to care about that. Your honest voice shines when you work on dismantling the desire to be noteworthy.
