Palestine activists conducting a historic hunger strike in Britain need our international solidarity
Eight people detained for allegedly protesting in support of Palestine are currently undertaking the largest hunger strike in UK prisons in over 40 years. The strikers need international solidarity to show the world they are not alone.

This ended even the remotest hope of me coming back to Labour.
Just awful.

Rachel Reeves declared herself an unapologetic Zionist on Monday and it's getting less media attention than the OBR bungling the budget release. People will criticise a woman for anything besides Zionism.
Remember, Israel this week self-admitted to murdering 3 children. Calling them "terrorists".

It sure is something watching Girl Guides protest the exclusion of their trans members, at the same time as the BBC pushes someone out for being a trans ally and routinely updates their news articles to insert transphobic terminology.

I'm privileged to call Robin a friend, and as such, have seen behind the curtains with what went on with Monkey Cage. When BBC bosses say they don't recognise his version of events, I was being told of them by Robin in real time. This stuff has been going on for YEARS.
I'm heartbroken for him.

The fact is no presenter has ever had to leave the BBC for expressing conservative views, or even explicitly endorsing a right-wing party.

Was never a problem for Jeremy Clarkson. Was never a problem for Andrew Neil. Was never a problem for Alan Sugar

Lineker & now Ince. Even for those not paying attention it should now be obvious that the sort of people who whine loudest about “cancel culture” are the ones doing the cancelling.

The far right’s commitment to “freedom of speech” is an authoritarian joke & the BBC has disgraced itself.

Indeed. I just hate that we’re in a timeline in which support and empathy for marginalised groups is deemed extreme while hatred and disdain for those same groups garners support and air time on political/news programmes

I understand that a lot of folks have been misled by fear-mongering and powerful regressive voices but it’s still astonishing to me that so many have fallen for the idea that oppressively policing other people’s gender identity and expression could in any way be part of an enlightened future.

The absolutely horrible truth of the rise of REFUK is that around a third of the entire electorate are now completely happy expressing support for racism to be the guiding light of national policy, on all topics.

And they absolutely do not care that racism cannot, possibly, solve any real issues.

Day 41 of Amu’s hunger strike.

Still, the Justice Secretary refuses to meet with me.
My constituent, Amu, is on Day 40 of their hunger strike in prison.

Last month, I requested an urgent meeting with the Justice Secretary to discuss their wellbeing.

He has now officially declined my request.

What an absolute disgrace.

I don't understand this outcome.
Years ago in the Ecuadorian Amazon, oil giant Texaco (now Chevron) dumped 3.2 million gallons of toxic waste, spilled 17 million gallons of crude oil and flared nearly 50 million cubic feet of methane gas. Now the Ecuadorian government has to pay $220 million in compensation to Chevron.
Ecuador Ordered to Pay Amazon-Polluting Chevron $220 Million
The oil giant was awarded hundreds of millions in compensation thanks in part to an international arbitration system.
