The guys that run this site are galaxy-brained meatballs who only enforce their TOS against Palestinians and trans people so that’s all for me! I’ll leave my profile up for posterity.

This galaxy-brained shithead “it’s actually the people complaining about the problem that are the real problem!”
startthemachine.bsky.social
Gee man I thought the user experience was supposed to take precedence over your friend being irritated about doing his job but that’s my mistake! And when you’re banning people from the platform for complaining, *every post you make on this platform* is fair game for criticism. Hope that helps!

Never apologize for calling either of these guys bitches. They’re smugly hiding behind an ancient twitter meme to avoid taking any responsibility for the website they operate
startthemachine.bsky.social
User safety is supposed to be tedious my man! That’s the “work” portion of operating a site whose only value is user interaction! You just decided that being irritated by user complaints is more material than the complaints themselves, because you’re two shitheads with a clubhouse.

There's the substance of the signal issue, and then there's the pattern of behavior that jay was responding to -- the constant, _constant_ off topic responses that make this tedious.

On the substance, it's really just that the guy didn't violate the ToS. I'm sorry, that's just it

A cop pinned this crash on Lacy with a negligent homicide charge despite their footage showing Lacy a football field behind the accident. He actually slows down and drives around the crash in the footage, b/c it has already happened. Flagrantly false charges on a 24 year old kid & he killed himself.

It’s not like one of the most beloved scents for bookish people is books, or anything, no, we must become Flavortown.

no no the publishing industry is doing fine, why do you ask

Jennifer L. Armentrout and Hellmann's
In a promotion designed for BookTok enjoyment, Jennifer L. Armentrout’s just-published THE PRIMAL OF BLOOD AND BONE is available in a special, limited-edition "garlic-scented copy, infused with Hellmann’s Garlic Aioli to create a one-of-a-kind, Craven-proof book." They explain: "This exclusive edition is printed with garlic-infused ink, designed to ward off Armentrout’s bloodthirsty monsters, the Craven. While humans may dread garlic breath, Hellmann’s has cleverly transformed this social faux pas into an unexpected – and delicious – form of supernatural protection."

If you see something like “Ben Affleck, 53, will star with Matt Damon, 54, in the new film by Christopher Nolan, 55” you should raise an eyebrow
startthemachine.bsky.social
I feel bad about this so let me clarify - this Daily Beast piece isn’t A.I. just because it made a weird stylistic choice in the headline. It probably isn’t! But including a subject’s age when you introduce them rather than when you quote them is an “error” that generative text routinely makes.
startthemachine.bsky.social
Putting the subject’s age in the headline is a dead giveaway of A.I.
startthemachine.bsky.social
It’s just predictive text. The style is to use the subject’s age with a quote or when it relates to the story, like “‘Magic Beds are real’,” says Trump, 79.” But AI does it when it introduces a subject, like “Ben Affleck, 53, will host SNL with Matt Damon, 54.” It’s not wrong, just not quite right.

It might be intentional! But deleting a weird video about magic beds is maniac behavior rather than old guy behavior so his age doesn’t connect as a joke to me, just superfluous information.

So did I, for like ten minutes
