The first time I met Bernie, I introduced myself to him, hands shaking, and thanked him for coming to the event. He told me he knew exactly who I am, gave me a huge hug and a kiss on both cheeks. He had just had one of any many back surgeries and was in pain, but the sparkle never left his eyes.
