After blaming a (non-existent) staffer for the Obamas-as-apes video, this is quite a remarkable statement by Leavitt.
Q: The president just said on Truth Social it would be a 'big mistake' for UK to hold over control of Diego Garcia, but the State Dept said the US supports that handover

LEAVITT: The post should be taken as administration policy. When you see it on TS, you know it's directly from President Trump.

brings us back to the ole "get off twitter vs. stay on to counter-message" argument... twitter is actively turning people to the right, like FOX News, so that argument becomes a throwback to the old "should liberals go on fox news?" dispute from 10 years ago.

Annoying posters on both platforms; what is puzzling to me is that reply guys on Bluesky feel more annoying even as they are less hateful. My sense is that a lot of us feel more injury when we are accused of failing some ethical standards whereas it is easy to dismiss haters.
There are a lot of annoying posters on both platforms, but at least over there I'm an equal opportunity idiot, if you know what i mean. The tribalism over here is fatiguing in a way that doesn't reward good faith posting.

Ho-lee Shit. This is phenomenally good news. Department of Education rolls back— for now— its attempts to destroy Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility initiatives. Keep an eye on them, of course, and watch for the hidden knife, always, but for now: Fantastic news.
BREAKING: The Department of Education has ended its directive that attempted to restrict diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts in schools nationwide.

This is a victory for academic freedom and education equity.

This evidence is consistent w/ real declines in teacher performance when teachers move to schools w/ less supportive working conditions and very different student populations.

This suggests teacher effectiveness is more dynamic than often assumed & school contexts matter.

The Brazilian political system is, structurally, very similar to the American one. But when they elected a Trump-style authoritarian back in 2018, their Congress and Supreme Court actually fought back.

I went to Brazil to find out why. And what I learned surprised me.
