I’ve been knitting since I was a teen. I remember knitting in my dorm room at university and I was ridiculed. Knitting got me through nursing school. Knitting does soothe and calm the soul through the rhythms of daily life. #knitting

I love the beautiful seaweeds, algae, and plants in our oceans. This is a piece of Plocamium Pacific, a red algae. Feathery and compact. This one washed ashore. Pressed it for art work. #pacificocean #algae

I love this!

Writers write. It doesn’t matter what we’re doing, we’re writing. Doing dishes? Writing. Waiting in line at the DMV? Writing. Listening to our wives explain about a cute dragon plushie? Writing (but taking notes). I write so much in my mind before I ever even open my laptop.

We are watching one of the wildest things a nation-state has ever done: A superpower is committing suicide because the GOP Congress is too cowardly to stand up to the Mad King.

This is one of the wildest moments in all of geopolitics ever.

First time seeing a Brooding Anemone (Epiactis prolifera) in SoCal tide pools. Dainty, quarter size floating around. Interesting: "It has a feature rare among animals in that all individuals start life as females but develop testes later in their lives to become hermaphrodites." #tidepool #anemone

This is true. Several years ago I was about to get discharged from the emergency room. I was advised to take Motrin for severe pain. I had a ruptured ectopic pregnancy. Good thing I am a RN. Persistence and surgery saved my life.
🧵 A story of Autistic medical trauma:

Many studies talk about how Autistic people can have a hypo & hyper sensitivity to pain. This results in professionals blowing us off as either dramatic or "not in enough pain". Many of us want to stop seeking medical attention after a while because of it.
