Am 11. 01. 1916 prangerte Karl Liebknecht im Reichstag den Genozid an der armenischen Bevölkerung an:

"Ist [...] bekannt, dass während des jetzigen Krieges im verbündeten türkischen Reiche die armenische Bevölkerung zu Hunderttausenden aus ihren Wohnsitzen vertrieben und niedergemacht worden ist?"

When I was a student at Cambridge an Ametican at the gates of St John's asked me if there was a rest room somewhere. I had never come across this euphemism and had no idea what he was looking for. I gestured vaguely in the direction of the JCR and said, I'm sure you could sit down and rest there.
