After years of complaining about cancel culture, the current administration has taken it to a new and dangerous level by routinely threatening regulatory action against media companies unless they muzzle or fire reporters and commentators it doesn’t like.
Let’s be clear about what happened to Jimmy Kimmel

Make no mistake: As Trump eyes more cuts to NASA’s science mission, our rivals are eager to race ahead — not just in space exploration, but in science and innovation across the board.

I try not to post about Xitter--I'm not on there anymore, I hate even thinking about it--but the latest Grok debacle has me mad all over again at how poor a job sports media has done abandoning that cesspool. Teams, reporters, etc.; what are they even getting out of propping up a literal hate forum?

It is really odd that conspiracy theorists never latch on to the one weather modification conspiracy that is actually real.

In the first half of 2025, Baltimore had the fewest homicides ever recorded – 62% decrease compared to this time three years ago.
But we can’t rest. In every community, we must continue to confront violence and do all we can to keep Marylanders safe.

Today marks seven years since we lost Gerald Fischman, Rob Hiaasen, John McNamara, Rebecca Smith, and Wendi Winters to a senseless, horrific act of gun violence at the Capital Gazette.
We will never forget them — and we can never stop fighting for a world without these terrible tragedies.

This is fascism.
And it's way more dangerous than bad economic policy.
If you're right of center and don't understand this—or still play whataboutism to undercut Democrats—I assume you are either not paying attention or secretly want fascism.

The Minnesota assassinations, the attempted arson at Governor Shapiro's home, and the violent arrest of Senator Padilla are all straight out of the Jim Crow terrorism playbook. Same goes with cops aiming for journalists covering the ICE protests.
None of these are new tactics, just a new iteration.

I have at least two people in my replies who are extremely upset that I suggested the two political assassinations of democratic politicians, yes even white ones, counts as an act of Jim Crow style terror and what is alarming is that these two accounts seem to be real people.

yes, I agree that ICE was wrong to take to the street kidnapping immigrants. They should find a non-violent way to express their hatred of foreigners
I don’t care if you’re razing Kenosha, storming the Capitol, or doing whatever this is in LA, no democracy can function when every group and identity block decides it has the right and moral authority to take its specific political disagreements into the streets.

the only time you should say you're "on a mission from God" is if you're digging wells in Haiti or you're getting the band back together to pay off your orphanage's tax bill
No he's not, Jesus and God both think President TACO is one of the worst people on Earth.

One of umpteen disturbing dynamics w/ how many people discuss 🇮🇱🇵🇸 is deriving almost erotic delight from portraying one society as uniquely evil.
When I post about Israelis or Palestinians doing good, people often reply that they’re freaks in their societies.
It’s unhelpful & gross. 🧵
