Good for Anderson Cooper.

(BTW Mr. Cooper I can think of another news network that would be happy to have you do some moonlighting, albeit at probably 1/100th the salary)
From the @status.news on Anderson Cooper's decision not to renew his contract at CBS.

"Weiss not only failed to persuade Cooper to grow his footprint at the network, but ultimately helped chase him away from it entirely."

Homan on Minnesota: "There will be a small force, a security force, that will respond when our agents are out and get surrounded by agitators. They will remain for a short period of time to make sure the coordination, the agreements we have with local and state law enforcement stay in place."

This is a systematic, multi-front campaign of engineering mass death. No other reasonable explanation at this point
Scoop: The NIH infectious-diseases institute (NIAID) will soon scrub “pandemic preparedness” and “biodefense” from its web pages, according to e-mails I obtained.

The directive is the start of a broader shake-up at NIAID, which has long been attacked by Republicans.
Exclusive: Key US infectious-diseases centre to drop pandemic preparation
Staff members have been instructed to scrub this topic and ‘biodefense’ from the agency’s website.

Tim Cook’s bribes really paying off.
Apple News is the latest media property to be warned by a Trump-appointed regulator over charges of liberal bias. FTC Chairman Andrew Ferguson said he’s “not the speech police” but warned Apple that its choice of articles could violate the law.
Trump’s campaign against ‘left-wing’ media finds a new target: Apple News
Federal Trade Commission Chairman Andrew Ferguson wrote a letter to Apple that warned the company its choice of articles in Apple News could violate the law.

Backing all of this 🧵
(Must START with immediate leadership shakeup in both houses of course)
When Ds are back in charge, they have to change everything. No moderate half-measures. Just relentless razing of the corrupt institutions that enriched the worst people in the world and propped up fascism.

A few suggestions...

I will not support any funding deal that puts money in the hands of Stephen Miller, Kristi Noem, and this violent agency. Defund and abolish ICE now.

Democrats, for gods sake, don’t waste your time saying “republicans should denounce this racist video posted by the president.” They can’t! Racism is the base of the party. It’s the brand. Just skip a step and denounce them ALL from the start for being what they are.

AOC: We are going to have to reckon, as a country, with this time. And I hope that that reckoning includes prosecution of people who are involved with the lawbreaking and human rights violations they are knowingly engaging in right now.

"The lesson for Americans who wish to support democracy is simple: Lean into Trump’s need to constantly seek self-aggrandizing confirmation of his own power, make the spectacle public and unavoidable, and show voters that the administration’s actions are intolerable."

Open, blatant extortion. How on earth is this reality
Pam Bondi just sent a letter to Minnesota officials saying ICE will leave if the state turns over its voter database to Trump.

Guess what? This has never been about safety or immigration. It’s a pretext for Trump to take over elections in swing states.

I don’t think people quite understand that the occupation by ICE in the Twin Cities has more or less erased non-white people from public life. They cannot safely exist in any space accessible to the public and moving between private places leaves folks vulnerable to kidnapping by armed masked goons.

Democrats need to realize ICE isn’t just—or even primarily—a mass deportation force.

ICE is also Trump’s most loyal internal security force which will be used to attack regime opponents and try to steal the election. They should defund his authoritarian capabilities.

need more cosmopolitan chauvinism imo. to be able to go to a world city and do this without crossing a border is something you should be proud of, it means you're a great country. To want to tear it down means you are inbred provincial hog with no greater drives than envy and fear.
Best TikTok thing going is the two dudes trying food from every country without leaving NYC. If you haven’t seen them yet, it’s incredible. My favorite so far is last week’s. Legit got me emotional.
