Take Trump literally and seriously. Banish into the sun all the hacks who told us we were being hysterical & radical. Ignore them forever.

This is a white nationalist regime in service of an international broligarchy that won't stop until it drinks all our milkshakes.

Venezuela was the start...

Blows my mind that some of the same journalists who see Trump as a want-to-be dictator at home are earnestly discussing the "challenges" for this same man to "bring democracy" to a country it just illegal invaded. Please grow up.

My beautiful friend, a nurse, died at 31 last night. Her cancer treatment was delayed because a visitor did not wear a mask and she became terribly ill for weeks with the flu or COVID and following infections. If you're wearing a mask, thank you.
Wrote about how disappointing it is that Jon Stewart punched down on people masking at @motherjones.com, when people should mind their own business and leave mask wearers be. www.motherjones.com/politics/202...

As @jewstein3000.bsky.social and others have pointed out, it's also hypocritical of him to make this joke as someone who has done extensive advocacy for 9/11 responders.

Having access to clean air is a key environmental issue in both situations.

Aside from the obvious reasons to mask, it's pretty embarrassing to admit you're just allowing yourself to get sick because someone might make fun of you, like are we in elementary school? Are you also scared to wear glasses lest someone call you "four eyes"?
In 2026 let’s normalize masking for public health.

If we could admit that with healthcare being gutted, vaccine access restricted and previously eradicated diseases coming back… having an extra layer like a respirator makes good sense.

Let’s also normalize not mocking people who mask!

40-50 million people in the U.S. with Long Covid. That's a big fish. Treating it like a small fish isn't going to help anyone. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/39842946/
The Current and Future Burden of Long COVID in the United States - PubMed
The current health and economic burden of long COVID may already exceed that of a number of other chronic diseases and will continue to grow each year as COVID-19 cases increase. This could be a significant drain on businesses, third-party payers, the healthcare system, and society.

Not to mention, New York just reported its highest weekly flu count *ever.* One thing is clear, podcast bros on either side of the political spectrum aren't going to save us. They never were. It's always going to be people quietly doing the right thing, no matter how much shit we take for it.

And a special message to people who spent the last year chasing likes and follows by cheerleading for talkshow hosts and podcasters for "standing up" to Trump: This is what *all* of them really think about you, and me. They think you're a joke. Whatever really matters to you, they don't care.
Disappointed to see Jon Stewart & co joke about masking in public. I do it for my medically fragile daughter (Batten Disease). People not masking properly led to her getting pneumonia, which led to her being on life support, which led to me getting price quotes on her cremation just in case.

I’m #oneofthetwo maskers Jon Stewart was mocking.

I mask bc I care about myself & others.

I mask bc Long Covid upended my life in 2020.

I mask bc my body is trying to kill me & it doesn’t need any extra help.

I mask bc I understand how much SARS2 damages the body.

Will Jon Stewart advocate as fiercely for COVID responders who worked w/out proper PPE (and now suffer with Long Covid & multiple other health complications) as he does for 9/11 first responders? 🤔

He can ask my sister-in-laws mother how long COVID affects them. She was on oxygen since COVID and finally died with a brutal last 3 years of her life where breathing was tough for her to do.

Jon Stewart has some absolute fucking NERVE to be making fun of Long COVID survivors and people still masking on his piece of shit podcast when he’s seen UP CLOSE the government deny healthcare and resources for 9/11 survivors who breathed in toxic air and are suffering decades later.

It shouldn't matter why we mask.

It should matter why non maskers don't take science, health, or community solidarity seriously.
