A very important piece of work revealing how much our security is underpinned by nature:

An across-government technical assessment published today recognises that "nature is the foundation of national security" and that "every critical ecosystem is on a pathway to collapse". A rational response to this would be to get very serious about nature recovery.

If #lufc had a reliable keeper we'd have a much better chance of staying up. It's not Perri.
Farke should prioritise this. I'd definitely bid for Ramsdale, who isn't first choice at Newcastle but is a proven Premier League keeper.

#lufc Good result today. Rather win the FA Cup than stay up. Not been in the final since I was 7, not won it since I was 6. I'd 100% rather win the FA Cup than the mere act of finishing 17th in the league. We'll win it once more in my lifetime, if I'm very (very) lucky. #facup

Back to my year in review...

In June it was back to #Iceland, first to the Snæfellsnes Peninsula with a dear friend. Light and wave conditions were dull, so photography wasn't great, but at the end I drove up to the Highlands & finally visited Hveravellir. Got some nice drone shots there.

I've taken the paywall off this piece. It's called My Dad, And The Toad Who Lived In His Shoe. Unsurprisingly, it's about my dad, and a toad who lived in his shoe. www.tom-cox.com/my-dad-and-t...
My Dad, And The Toad Who Lived In His Shoe
It was 2011 and I had driven up from Norfolk, where I was living at the time, to Nottinghamshire to see my mum and dad. Not long after I arrived, my dad took me to one side. “TOM, CAN I HAVE A WORD?” ...

Friend of mine fell and broke his wrist while on holiday in New York last week. Had to have an x-ray and got bandaged up. His hospital bill was £7550. Just in case anyone was starting to buy into the current UK effort to privatise our healthcare and forgot how good we have it.

Guardian headline:
"Tools that help people scan planning applications and find grounds for objection have potential to hit government’s housebuilding plans".

If there are proper grounds for objection, why shouldn't they be highlighted? That's a good thing.
