If there is a Warner Bros. movie you love and you don't have on physical media then do not hold off getting it while you still can.

There are entire schools of practical magic that adventurers never have any reason to discuss, learn, or even know that much about, because if you've solved the problem of "that guy over there isn't on as much fire as I'd like him to be," you're not going to stop there.
Jim and I have been talking about personal RPG headcanons. We firmly believe Beholders are perpetually stoned, and speak in a Californian surfer voices. Do you folks have any?

Well, *I've* watched maybe 16 episodes of MST3K this weekend.

Apparently this was the salve my spirit needed at the end of this kidney stone of a year.

Anecdotally on twitter seeing a big shift the last few days from every AI slop account saying every other creative field is “over” and they’re in control now to now posting about how nobody likes them and it’s not fair and they’ll persevere and real artists respect and uplift eachother

It is creator day on itch.io. For twenty-four hours, they are waiving their platform fee so developers get their full cuts.

I have compiled below a bunch of wonderful indie games that are on itch.io. All of them are phenomenal in their own right and deserve every dollar they ask of you.
You know what? I will. There are a bunch of games available on itch.io that are great and I am going to highlight them in this thread:
Today is an excellent day to be reminded how important @itch.io is and how lucky we are a platform like this exists, where creators (rather than customers) come first. Share an itch.io project you like! Make a purchase!

"She's zestfully dead."
It’s thanksgiving week so I wanna see some MST3K posting, quotes, pictures, clips, gifs! Meanwhile I’m going to go to a department meeting and try to pay attention while I wonder if there’s beer on the sun

Google at its peak was basically the best information retrieval system in human history and they and every competitor decided going from there to “you didn’t want answers you wanted half-assed auto-complete 80%-wrong hallucinations” in a few years was the right idea

I'd rather die, thanks
Saw a post today that advised writers to stop writing as if a human will read it and start writing for an LLM that will be summarising.

As someone who really enjoyed trying to develop a peculiar but readable authorial voice, I find this incredibly depressing.

Has anyone ever edited that scene of Tom Cruise getting uppercutted into the air from THE MUMMY (2017) with the Dan Forden "Toasty!" icon? If not, why not?

You know, as much as I hate the modern retcon/remake parade, I actually wouldn't mind if Capcom decided to quietly rename Raccoon City at some point.

I had forgotten how irritated I was as a kid with all the MK3 fatalities that render your opponent into several discrete chunks with their hands floating next to their torsos.

I used to play MK3 at the convenience store by my high school and all the fatalities in that game were *disappointing*.

"In Resident Evil, almost uniquely, victories are possible. They’re always difficult and often costly, but the characters can win. The world can be saved, and is in fact worth saving in the first place."

Reactionary content creators and “thought leaders” truly believe they’re the other side of a coin. They think that a decades-old market research firm whose value is entirely dependent upon its veracity is cooking its numbers to push an agenda because that is what they do.

I've often joked that the Trump presidencies feel like a rejected parody script from 1985, but no individual element bothers me as much as this.

The CDC head during COVID being named "Redfield," and now this shitbird having the same name as the evil corporation from "The Boys," is too on the nose.
