It’s dinner time for the police. Appears to be pizza from a Salvation Army van.

Broadview’s “free speech” curfew starts soon, at 6pm.

I turned the settings up specificly to get good screenshots and the result was bad screenshots, I love computers.

Ok ok, on landing on the moon I decided I needed a new mobile base, a rocket platform as is more apt to the terrain. It's called bedstead and as you might surmise from its industrial look it's all about finding and processing ores. That thing on the tower is a mining drone.
A view from the ground up at a big orange industrial thing like an oil rig with rocket nozzles. This angle shows the big floodlights mounted on the front of it and its underside. Sitting on its landing pad seen from above we can see it's got 8 big thrusters, one on each corner and one facing each horizontal direction. Hung from it in various locations are refining and assembling machines and it has a tower sticking up from one end with a big dish and a docked mining ship attached. The top surface of the ship is festooned with catwalks. It's all a bit orange. A view of the ship from the other side still on its landing pad. There's more light which allows you to see its industrial nature better. A view of it looking small in a crater because it's far away, it's dark and it's in its own pool of light.

Ok, it's 2am I'll pick this back up in the morning!

As I was building the incline Kayfox joined me again and built themself a little garage for their rover, then half distmantled it inside and built a little welder ship around it. I later stuffed some homeless electronics in the corner.
The outside front of the garage. It's green with a shallow roof and a big hanger door. There's a couple of floodlights covering the doorway and the supports for the structure above partially integrate into the walls. A view from the landing platform stairwell showing a yellow gantry across to the upper floor of the garage where there's a little airlock. From the inside corner of the garage, taken from a gantry ring high above the floor. On the right side the airlock, on the left two stacks of electronics and in the middle a welding ship hangs off an armature. The floor is grey, the gantries yellow, and the walls and ship green with the conveyor blocks all a shiny brass From the floor level in the opposite corner. There's some support blocks on the left to maintain the environment and provide cargo access and a window on the left. There's yellow light coming from somewhere to illuminate the inside.

Safety first!

This staircase is 3.6km long, I hope you brought a packed lunch.
A walkway with railing from the landing pad to the base of the incline. The structure is all green, the railings are yellow. A yellow catwalk stairway stretches off into the distance up the green incline. The whole picture is framed by the wheels of the ascender and in the middle a ladder hangs down from it. Silver catwalks run around the underside of the ascender to the ladder.

The interior of Kaneda is waaaaay better than the others. Not sure I have the colour palette entirely right and I didn't actually finish it (there's a corridor at the back that just ends) but I quite like it.
A view from just inside the airlock door. The interior is light green and silver with some black and wooden accents. There's another airlock door opposite and on the left two stairs go up to another level. A view from the left front corner. On the right a silver door to another part of the upper level, beyond that the opening to the lower level. In the middle above that opening is an air vent and various other items. On the left the end of a wooden sofa, and beyond that on the left side some tables and chairs. On the far right side is a nook with an aquarium and some greenery. A view of the front of the ascender. Flanked by sofas there is a small control area with a stand looking out some big windows. A vending machine is also visible. A view from the right front corner. On this side is a set of wood trimmed aquaria and terraria with some sofas and planters.

Which brings us to the inclinator. Instead of making a separate builder and ascender I just made one platform (it's called Kaneda) and removed the welding apparatus when it was done.
A black and silver platform sits on a green inclined rail that's set at 45 degrees. It has many wheels. This is taken at a low elevation so you can see plenty of lunar terrain beyond. A view of the ascender from in front and below, most of it is empty space but there's a cabin hanging from under the platform. The ascender while docked at the base of the inclinator, bathed in yellow light.

It's prettiest at night tbh, it's just a shame Space Engineers lighting is kinda janky.
A view up the ramp from the valley at night, the Earthlike planet hangs in the sky. There's a line of yellowish floodlights on gantries above it. In the background the ramp can be seen from the side. Looking again up the ramp from the turn in the middle, the bulk of the landing pad on the right hand side, the planet a blue crescent framing the whole sky. On the ramp again at night, it has a flat part in front of the base and then it ascends again and does a switchback which is where this picture was taken looking back towards the ramp. On the platform at the top of the ramp looking across at the inclinator platform docked to it with the incline extending off darkly behind.

Let's zoom out and get a look at Crises Base. There's surprisingly little actual stuff here, it's mainly decorative with most of the industrial things being on ships attached to it. You can see Adonis II in the valley there connected via the janky conveyor line.
A wide view of Crises Base in the sunlight. In the valley is Adonis II, there's a concrete ramp up the hill to some kind of steel and concrete complex. Bedstead sits there on its landing pad from behind which some kind of linear structure extends. On the other side of it is something elevated with a tower running upwards out of frame, and on the far side a solar panel. The lower part of the base at night, all nicely lit up with sodium floodlights The upper part lit up at night, showing the ramp up to the top of the base.

Initially there wasn't really anything on top of it but over time I added catwalks and railings and stairs and things. As I've played I've been adapting to the jetpack nerf mod and I like that it forces you to do this stuff.
A view on top of the platform. We're standing on one of the corners looking at the stairs up to the centre of the ship. There are lots of catwalks and railings and things, it's all very industrial. A big flat catwalk platform on one corner, there's a hole in the middle of it and a control panel on the other side. A little yellow and blue ship docked to an orange docking arm with some half built green scaffolds nearby. This is an older screenshot of where I'd be standing in the first one. There's barely any catwalks or railings and it just looks plain and unfinished, especially compared to the little ship. A very similar little yellow and blue ship docked to a structure of orange catwalks, railings, and stairs that looks much better.

It also has an interior. A rather spartan one tbh, it's all one big open area and I wasn't sure what to do with it. I'm trying out these floor blocks they added recently and finding them kinda difficult to incorporate which doesn't help.
A spacious room most of which is empty. The floors and ceiling are off-white and and the walls green, there are some windows but much of the walls are obscured by various furniture mounted around the edges of the room most of which has a wooden texture. Another view of a different part of the big room. There's a lot of LCD displays here and some computer equipment. Another view inside the same room, here we can see some big viewing windows, there's a wooden desk with a computer console built into it and just beyond that another desk with all kinds of computer stuff built into it. Another view including the big windows, here we can see the control stand for flying the ship. In front of it is a transparent LCD that isn't showing anything right now.

I'm gonna go make a cuppa and then come back this in a separate thread of moon stuff.
stonewolf.bsky.social
Before I get into the meat of all the moon stuff because I've spent what feels like forever working on moon stuff here's the two pictures I have of the abortive space elevator. The construction platform crashed and exploded three times so I gave up and changed plans. It only made it 700 of 2800m up.
A stubby green structure with an industrial looking red scaffold built around it. An Earthlike planet looms large in the sky behind it. Looking up at the structure as it's extended into the sky. it's a boring box shape repeated over and over.

@bestfoxes.com joined me for the launch of Adonis II and since they'd built a little rover/flyer combo in Pertam we lashed it to the landing gear and took it with us. Its performance on the moon was ... questionable but it was fun bouncing around on it together.
A green four wheeled rover with cargo and mechanical stuff up at one end and a yellow flying vehicle docked to the other end serving as its control stand.

Heyyyy, I took some interior screenshots! There's a docking port for a little mining ship just outside the airlock. The interior isn't my best work, it's kinda garishly ugly in a cosy sort of way.

The important thing is, Adonis II got me to The Moon!
A screenshot on the deck outside the airlock door, visible in the foreground is a docking connector. Most of the deck is green with the functional blocks in orange. A window looks out over the deck. A view of the interior from just inside the door. The floor and ceiling are yellow with some orange and green bits where necessary. There are fittings including a bed, medical equipment, and aquarium all in a nice wood finish. Dividing the room is the large black back of an LCD panel, we can't see what's behind it. Overall it's a bit garish. On the other side of the LCD panel (which is displaying a progress flag) is a seating area with a desk and a sofa by the aquarium. The walls here are green against the yellow floor and ceiling. The wall has several broad portholes and in the corner is a control panel and a ladder. At the top of the ladder is a smaller room with some control panels. The floor here is also yellow but the ceiling and walls are green. On the left is a status display built up out of various electronics blocks. There are big windows here and access to two cockpits.

Adonis I had an unfortunate pirate involved incident that left me stuck back on Pertam so I built Adonis II. It's got all the same stuff, actually more stuff, but packaged different with better armour protection and some guns.
Same desert, same mining rover, new ship. It's squat and broad with some of its orange engineering parts visible under a green armoured cover that drapes over most of the ship like a sheet. This one also has some gun turrets on it. In the foreground is a boring black rover I threw together for ore scouting. This is the same ship from a different angle, the reverse one, in this view you can see an ore detector on a flexible mount on top.
stonewolf.bsky.social
This is Adonis I, my departure vessel, it has everything I need except an extensive body of screenshots. In the second one you can see a little mining shuttle mounted on top. It does in fact have a proper interior.
A tall space ship sits in a scrubby desert with the wheel of the mining rover on one side of the shot, a reverse of the one we saw last post. The bottom two thirds of the ship is orange and industrial, all business. The top third is a square green block with windows on three stacked decks. This is the same screenshot from the previous post, we're just talking about the other vehicle this time.
stonewolf.bsky.social
Naturally I set about building a mining rover!

I wish I had more screenshots of this thing, it's very cool. The gantry can be raised and lowered and locked in place for transit, all those pipes and things actually do stuff. It can mine down to 120m and process any ores.
A picture from a tower looking down at a big red and yellow six wheeled rover with a collapsable gantry, currently raised. The body of the rover has a lot of pipes and machinery. The same rover from above and behind at night with the gantry locked down and the drill head showing between its floodlights. The rover is parked on a slight incline with its gantry again in the lowered position. We can see the front with its rather janky and last minute cabin visible. There's also a tall orange and green ship sitting on its tail in the picture.

I started out on the desert planet Pertam which has very little ice and resources are scarce and harder to get at. My initial goal being to get off the planet with enough equipment to not return.

Worth noting, this run has no third person view and a nerfed jetpack.
stonewolf.bsky.social
Oki, Imma do a screenshot thread of the stuff I've been up to in SE since I'm about to basicly leave all of it behind!

I'm only gonna screenshot stuff I currently have but I'll talk about older stuff esp if I happen to have screenshots laying around!

I'll try to make it make sense for non-players.
A view downwards along a green structure towards a rocky moon the curvature of which is pronouncedly visible. In the foreground is something with red and black safety stripes.
