So ok, I've created my new political account. That does not mean you won't see politics on this one. @temporarydog.bsky.social is gonna be fairly targetted at local Nottingham stuff and UK Greens more generally so I didn't feel it'd sit well here but if that's your bag do follow esp if you're local.

Thank you to everyone who suggested setting natural scrolling but fun fact, this also reverses the trackpad direction which is far more than mildly irritating.

I use my laptop both docked and undocked you see.
Things I find mildly irritating:

The mouse scroll on my Mac and PC go in opposite directions (the Mac is wrong).

The drunk uncle theory.

You don’t argue with the casually homophobic uncle at Thanksgiving dinner to change his mind; you argue so that the closeted cousin at the kids table knows there’s safe people and better possibilities out there
agree with this (hah) but also think a particular mistake the left made for a long time online, and still makes to an extent, is failing to understand that the person whose mind you may actually change is the one reading the argument you're having, not the one you're arguing with
The secret to engaging in social media debate is knowing you will never win anyone over. The best you can hope for is to have people who already agree with tell you you're awesome. You might great a dopamine thrill from the righteousness of your anger! Fine benefits, all. But you will never win.

it keeps going back and forth between being infuriating and funny how much we study this when the answer is always the same and it never matters
My god do we need UBI

“Researchers have found that when a new plasma center opens in a neighborhood, foot traffic at local grocery stores increases, interest in payday loans declines and crime goes down, an indication of the way money from plasma props up households’ finances for necessities.“
Middle-class Americans are selling their plasma to make ends meet
Last year, people in the U.S. made an estimated $4.7 billion selling their plasma. Donation centers are popping up in middle-class neighborhoods, including suburban strip malls and college towns.

Thinking about this rn ...
It's #MurrsuitMonday so with everything going on enjoy this video of me getting absolutely railed by a really hot fox man with a lovely dick while his sloppy hole is still gaped from the breeding I'd given him moments before.

I sympathise with all the creators who claim bsky is dead because I have a single issue account and it's dead because local politics isn't big on here but art, gaming, and being a snarky bitch are huge on here so if that's your thing you need to learn how to network again before calling time.

Conservatively living solo costs 29% of my takehome pay, that's £11,000 per year. This does absolutely impact my mental health and is a vicious circle that suppresses my social life. Living single is more common today and failure to adapt our economic system is a problem that actively hurts people.

This couldn’t be any more false.
