Tonight's 🎥: Sunset Boulevard (1950, dir. Billy Wilder). The best film about films ever made? Undoubtedly. One of the all-time great movies, stuffed with an embarrassment of riches, from the writing to performances to production design, cinematography and direction. Savage, melancholy, brilliant.

This is the irony. We let 15-year olds drive GIANT DEATH MACHINES and nobody bats an eye.
I'm also not seeing any of these people saying "do not let anyone under 25 or so drive a motor vehicle" when this involves the same issues of not fully developed brains plus carpooled-and-playdated kids having no practice with road skills, except cars kill people a lot more easily than bikes. 3/

It’s capitalism taking advantage of some of the stuff Ray Oldenburg talks about in his book The Great Good Place. I recommend reading it. Take chapter 13 with a heaping of “it was written in the late 80s”. But otherwise very good read.

I just reaalized these are my 1st colorwork socks. I’m making them for one of my grandson’s. He started by asking for green socks for his birthday (1/20) and once I happily agreed, upped the ante by asking if they could be Minecraft socks. 🤣 What’s a grandmom to do? #showmeyourknits 🧶
